Bringing this back because apparently y’all didn’t pay attention the first time! Captions are an accessibility tool for those who are d/Deaf, hard of hearing, non-native speakers, or have audio processing problems, they are NOT a place for you to dick around and add commentary. It is not funny or cute; it makes it more difficult to understand what’s going on. Quite seriously fuck you if you know you’re doing this and continue to do it.

  • Read and study Thor in the Sagas, Poetic Edda and Prose Eda.
  • Train with weights and keep yourself fit and active.
  • Wear a symbol of Mjölnir, Thor’s hammer.
  • When there’s a storm, open your curtains/windows and watch the rain and lightning.
  • Go fishing!
  • Use the crystals red agate, iron, carnelian, and steel in your craft and to decorate your altar.
  • Help those in need and stand up for those who may not be able to stand up for themselves.
  • Eat and drink with friends and family; beer and hearty meals are good choices.
  • Volunteer to help at community centres, homeless shelters or charities for abused children.
  • Research the rune Thurisaz (ᚦ) and use it in your craft and to decorate your altar.
  • Spend time outdoors; go camping or for a hike.
  • Leave offerings of mead, beer, meat (with no broken bones), storm/rain water, leeks, onions, and objects struck by lightning.
  • Decorate your home and alter with reds, blues, silver, Mjölnir, thistles, statues of goats, lightning bolts, and acorns or other pieces of oak wood.
  • Pay particular attention to Thor on Thursdays.

You really need to see this in the US because everyone else on the fucking planet has been seeing this for nearly a week and we are PISSED

Your government, in the middle of a global fucking pandemic, literally tried to buy the vaccine under development for said pandemic exclusively for the US.

This isn’t just a daily fail bullshit squawk, this has been confirmed by multiple sources, INCLUDING THE GODDAMN GERMAN GOVERNMENT.  “CAPITALISM HAS LIMITS” and you have crossed a fucking line.

i took a philosophy class my first year at community college, and it was the funnest shit ever - prof gave us a powerpoint and told us to fight with him when we disagreed so we could have discussions, then gave us his steam username so we could play racing games together. one time, he told us this story about a prof he had in grad school - guy was tenured, and apparently a great teacher. but he had this time built into his schedule where other profs would be in labs, experimenting, doing research, where he stood in his empty classroom with a warm cup of tea and stared out the window. for these 1.5 hour schedule blocks. and the administration would come to him and be like “dude, we’re not paying you to stare out the window, why aren’t you working?” and he’d say, “i am working. i’m a philosopher, it’s my job to contemplate the world and life and that’s what I’m doing,” and they couldn’t do shit cause he was tenured. and then every handful of years he’d pop out a book that blew everybody’s tits off and they’d get a surge of new philosophy grads come to study with him and make the school a lot of money.

So yeah, i think that’s still what being a philosopher is like
