Looking at these pictures made me realize something. It’s not just Taemin without the pounds of makeup and concealer, it’s Lee Taemin, a 20 year old who has eye bags and acne scars; just like us and its just so raw. Dont you think at one point he had wanted to chill with his friends, date a cute girl/guy, or even go out to the mall? Here’s the thing, he can’t. Hes an idol. He can’t go out to the mall because he’d be endlessely stalked whereever he goes. He can’t date the person he likes because of constant judgement, image, and even the fear that the other party could be harassed, insulted, or even physically injured. He can’t even hang out with his friends because he probably doesn’t have much contact with them. He debuted at what, 15? And became a trainee and much younger. He left behind and sacrificed so much to live his dream and make each and everyone of us smile; to inspire us to work even harder and make us all happy once more. He knew what to expect when he signed that contract. Even through all the rumours and insults and sacrifices, he still manages to smile brightly and continue doing what hes done so far. Hes only twenty and he hadnt been able to live like regular teenager but he signed it, and he is happy.

The point of this is to remind each and every one of you to appreciate your idols, because you never know how much they had gone through, how much they had left behind to get to where they are today. They are just regular human beings thay need someone to cuddle, also crave for pizza, and stab their toes on the corner of tables. They mess up dance moves and crack several notes, but hey, its human. Just be a little more considerate on how much work theyve put into, how much sleep they had lost the previous night because in the end, theyre just like us.
