As the sun was starting to set, the stalls had cleared and dusk was quick to roll around. Now, loud music began playing and the flash of lights filled the air, people were cheering, heading towards the ‘dance floor’. Akira’s never been to a festival like this, where people were so quick to switch from one thing to another. People of all ages seemed to be in this, but the majority being teenagers and young adults.
With all these colours, he wondered if they were going to start throwing powder paint like that one festival. What was it called? Colour festival? – No wait, Holi. That was it. He didn’t know much about that festival other than it was to celebrate love and it involved a lot of powder paint. Part of him wanted to join the other people, but he had his doubts. He didn’t know how to dance, and there was just so many people there, that he wasn’t sure if he could even dance there.
Taking to the sides, Akira simply watched the crowd. For once, Akira was feeling content and relaxed, despite how awkward he was around people. Perhaps it was just because he enjoyed merriment like this, seeing people all gathered together, happy and enjoying life.
What he didn’t notice, was that there was someone trying to grab his attention.
despite her duties and the obligations she had to the order, yang xiao long was allowed some time to partake in the pride festival. her younger sister was running a booth, and it’d be a good opportunity for her to meet people. she was often too absorbed in her work to go out and meed people, so this just seemed to be a good idea all around. the blonde didn’t get to arrive until later in the day, though, after all of her work was done in the underground. but she arrived just in time for the dance party.
the dj’s choice in music was just her style, and she was having quite a bit of fun dancing out on the floor. a smile crossed yang’s features and she stepped out of the center of the floor after a few minutes of dancing. she needed a second to catch her breath and get a tiny bit of fresh air away from all the perfumes and colognes that people dancing were wearing, and backed away to the sides.
after a few moments, she looked at one of the only other people sitting on the outskirts: a black-haired guy a bit younger than her. she grinned to herself, stepping over to him. ❝ hey! ❞ the girl called to him as she sidestepped around the floor beside him.
❝ you there? ❞ she crossed her arms for a moment before just rolling her eyes and grabbing his arm, already starting to tug on him so he couldn’t ignore. ❝ come on, loser -- let’s go dance! ❞
