Yesss. I like RPF because of the freedom it gives me. Granted, I write mostly AU's, but fictional characters are so one sided that it's almost impossible to write them in anything unless it resembles canon, lest they be OOC! God forbid. Real people—the more you dig in, the more sides to them you find, the more human and complex and hypocritical and contradictory and deep and interesting. I don't have to encompass all of that in my writing, but it does give me more to work with and allows me to create a more whole, realistic character. Love that about RPF. Always have, always will.
