Saw someone mention the new Boston Dynamics' robot was introduced like a Souls boss. Was not expecting it to come out so creepy.

I remember when it used to be so cool having new robots that could walk around and now it's just like "surveillance bot makes sure to always have a camera on your face no matter what happens to it and records you while you get shot to death."

I used to think the Boston dynamics robots were so cool. Like weird little robot dogs I loved it. It was completely ruined for after I found out they did all that just so they could strap a gun and a camera to it. And give it the fucking cops

Hundreds of Jewish anti-war demonstrators have been arrested during a Passover seder that doubled as a protest in New York, as they shut down a major thoroughfare to pray for a ceasefire and urge the Senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer, to end US military aid to Israel.

The 300 or so arrests took place on Tuesday night at Grand Army Plaza, on the doorstep of Schumer’s Brooklyn residence, where thousands of mostly Jewish New Yorkers gathered for the seder, a ritual that marked the second night of the holiday celebrated as a festival of freedom by Jews worldwide.

The seder came just before the US Senate resoundingly passed a military package that includes $26bn for Israel.

one arrest has been made at ut austin so far. protesters are seemingly boxed in on all sides. in a follow up tweet to this one, op notes students are attempting to dearrest the protester.

edit: after having posted this i found a tweet from ut austin's newspaper saying a second person has been arrested.

when i came out as trans i had an old friend from my church days message me to congratulate me and ask me for my name and pronouns. and i was shocked tbh cause he was such a head-deep-up-the-church’s ass kind of guy so i was super wary.

and after digging a little deeper i found out that he was very supportive of transness, saying that trans men are men and trans women are women

BUT

he also believed in the church’s gender roles meaning that trans women had to marry men and be submissive wives and trans men had to marry women and be strong christian husbands.

the weirdest and most surreal form of trans inclusive misogyny i’ve ever seen.

I have a friend who was not out at his job. He didn't bind at work because he was afraid of that being the action that outed him. He worked at a small place run by a very conservative and trump loving family.

His coworkers were awful to him and treated him horribly.

Once he decided to start testosterone and started binding he told them his name, and that he was expecting people to use he/him when addressing him. Everything changed.

He suddenly had so much respect. They turned to him when things needed to be decided or fixed and asked his opinions on company based decisions. He even got a pay bump out of nowhere. They only mentioned his transition once to say "trans people are awful but that makes sense that you want to be the superior gender so it's fine."

He was livid. It breaks both of our brains to unpack it.

the Columbia University arrests are worse than they seem. They're arresting protesting students for trespassing. It goes without saying students cannot meaningfully "trespass" in the common areas of a university they attend. So Columbia University has suspended all student protestors from their institution, in the process revoking their access to housing, their belonging, and most crucially damaging their academic futures. We are witnessing full scale silencing and removal of anyone of conscience from the next generation of academia.

OP, I have the exact same cake mold, but I had a red velvet cake mix, so mine turned out a bit more... macabre

I too had to save him with frosting because the cake was so heavy it fully tore in half when I released it from the mold

...i did not consider that the red velvet would make it look like his face was flayed

For anyone new, Holly Mop is a rescue dog who spent the first few years of her life in a cage. When we first got her she was terrified of being outside and would become ill with stress when we tried to take her on walks. We got her a stroller to see if that would help and it became her favorite thing. Three years later she’s able to walk on leash in quiet spaces, but still loves the elevated view from her carriage.
