𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝, Rey didn’t move an inch away from him as he spoke, wanting to take in all his thoughts and words. 𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗳 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲’𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵. Although she was so confident in her opinion, that her understood his wrongdoings, she was still caught slightly off guard the for once he was able to vocalize it to her.
❝ I know you, Ben Solo. & deep down, I believe that you know that this is the wrong path. ❞ She added while she looked up into his eyes. Truly, she was convinced. The world had not seen the last of Ben Solo. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝗺, 𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻. 𝗛𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼.
IT’S AS IF she’s staring into his very soul –––
and yet, Ren cannot seem to take his eyes off
her. He can’t help but to feel BARE ; as if all is
on display for Rey to see. His failures, his
insecurities ––– EVERYTHING. But still...as hazel
eyes are met with ebon, he feels at ease. Like
nothing else MATTERS in this moment.
IT’S ALMOST COMFORTING to hear her say
his true name ; it makes it EASIER for him to
be Ben while around her, rather than HIDING
under the facade of Kylo Ren. He sighs,
shoulders slump, and his eyes break contact as
they instead turn to the floor ; ANYWHERE but
Rey’s face. ‶ ––– Perhaps, ″ He replies, voice
but a choked whisper. ‶ But it’s too late for me. ″
And, truly, he believes it.
