      OK YOU GUYS ARE PROBABLY GONNA BE LIKE WOW EMMA OK WE GET IT BUT--

   If you think about it Squall & Rinoa have a lot of parallels with Belle x Beast/Adam. Squall has been by himself for so long, he refuses to accept help or to rely on others. He is scared to feel such things to allow himself that sense of comfort because he does not want it to be pulled away again. Beast/Adam is scared to hope that anyone could ever love him, he pushes away anyone & everyone. Both are awkward & brash when speaking to others. I.e. whenever Squall is being forced into roles he does not want or to speak to others about ‘friendship’, & Beast/Adam when forced to interact with Belle. 

   Now let’s talk about Rinoa & Belle. NO ONE EVER TAKES THEM SERIOUSLY & BOTH ARE OBSESSED WITH BOOKS & LIBRARIES. People think them both odd or funny. When Squall yells at Rinoa for her strategies, she looks at him & says, “We’re serious--so serious it hurts sometimes.” Yes, she is bubbly & idealistic but she is serious about what she fights for. The villagers believe Belle to be odd & weird for reading & not wanting what society calls for. Both want MORE! Especially since Rinoa ran away from General Caraway aka her dad even though she had EVERYTHING SHE COULD EVER WANT. She wanted more than that rich life, she wanted MORE for her life & to make her OWN adventures & choices. So does Belle. 

   Now let’s talk about the whole RELATIONSHIP DYNAMIC. We know the dance scene IN BOTH SITUATIONS IS KEY & MEMORABLE. For Squall it is a random woman pulling him into a situation that RELIES HEAVILY ON TRUST. Dancing is ALL ABOUT FOLLOWING & LEADING. At first he fumbles & wants to pull away, but Rinoa refuses. She locks eyes with him, & he finds it in him to begin his leading of the dance. It is the same with Belle x Beast/Adam. He is scared & does not know what to do at first, but Belle looks him in the eye & begins to lead them through the dance. Quickly, he begins to take over & they begin to rely on one another. Trust one another. 

   BOTH COUPLES LEARN FROM ONE ANOTHER. For Squall he learns to rely on others, to trust & to slowly open up. Rinoa learns that the world is more vast & complicated that she first thought. She learns that there is more to Squall’s world than right & wrong. As for Belle & Beast, Belle learns there is always growth & change if people wish it for themselves. Beast learns that there is more to love than just skin deep. He learns that there are genuine people out there. 

             BARELY EVEN FRIENDS, THEN SOMEBODY BENDS.
