i think what ppl who don't like cats do not understand is a cat will scuffle with u even if it likes u. sometimes more. a cat biting you or kicking you isn't because they hate u its because they are little predator animals and they like to play. they're also 2 feet tall and don't have hands and their mouth is the only thing they can Get Stuff with and it's full of tiny razor teeth. not their fault!!

It's so funny how people are acting like there is some mass vanishing of youtubers as if its weird for people to want a change of pace after a decade doing the same job

Like half of them aren't even quitting social media let alone youtube and several gave a year to a few months of forewarning so the fuck is everyone freaking about

Even when you know something is coming, it can still hurt.

Even if they're not gone, it won't ever be quite the same.

Its also a sign of the changing internet media landscape that these creators are feeling burned-out and needing to step down.

Then there's the idea of someone you've followed for years suddenly not being there. Which in a para-social way can feel like loosing a friend

Like I said tho, half of them aren't even leaving YouTube they're just posting less. I'm more talking about posts talking about how this is a sign of the end times for YouTube and not that like 5 guys in their 30s to 40s want a change of pace in their career

Oh but it kinda is a sign. I heard this from Philip Defrancos show but with people like Tom Scott its being able to compete with other video platforms like tiktok, and instagram, as well youtube itself pushing shorts. Lots of creators noticing views dropping. And content Theives. Its hard to be a successful creator.

It's always been hard and confusing. Youtube isn't gonna implode because there is a core audience that very much will remain on the site. Tom Scott stepped away because he feels he has personally fulfilled his own goals and is going to create at a more comfortable rate, being able to do that is the complete opposite of youtube being on the outs.

The other night husband and I were watching a documentary about the yeti where they were doing DNA analysis of samples of supposed yeti fur, and every one of them came back as bears.

Anyway, the next night we watched a thing about some pig man who is supposed to live in Vermont. People said it had claws and a pig nose but walked upright like a man. Now, I happen to know that sideshows used to shave bears and present them as pig men. So every piece of evidence they gave of this monster sounds to me like a bear with mange.

So now the running joke in our house is that everything is bears. Aliens? Bears. Loch Ness monster? Bear. Every cryptozoological mystery is just a very crafty bear.

Bears. They’re everywhere. Be wary. Anyone or anything could be a bear.
