thinking about how finn should’ve been the protagonist of the sequel trilogy makes me wanna punch through a wall like one of those gamer boys

he was literally introduced to be the protagonist. you can’t watch the first twenty minutes of tfa and not come away thinking “he’s the lead, right?” and even aside from that, his character arc is set up to carry the narrative forward. take finn away and you don’t have an awakening of the force, you don’t have poe surviving, you don’t have rey’s involvement, you don’t have information about how to defeat starkiller base, you don’t have important characters being brought together. he’s the reason the sequel trilogy even exists. and his character, everything he is as a person, is meant to act as a narrative foil to the antagonist. rey has none of that, she has no basis for her actions. but finn, like every good protagonist, is directly tied to seeing the destruction of the antagonist. he knows the first order, he knows kylo, he knows his decision not to be them and how he struggles with his past.

finn was the only true protagonist of the sequel trilogy and they pushed him aside to prop up some half baked narrative between kylo and rey. and this is why i think we should destroy star wars

TEAM BETTER THAN YOUR WHITE BOY NAZI

Last few days spent diving back into the Zutara tag, I’ve seen WAYYYY too many posts comparing that pasty ass murdering fascist to my sweet dumb son.

If you’re gonna compare Zuko to anybody in Star Wars it should be Finn.

-Both indoctrinated from a young age on false propaganda, and brought up in abusive, rigid environments.

-Both chugging that Respect Women Juice like they been stranded on Jakku.

-Both latecomers to the Resistance, but loyal af after switching sides.

-Both faced their abusers head on (Ozai/Azula, Kyle-Ron/Phasma) and came out scarred but stronger.

-Both goddamned dorky and awkward when the moment hits.

-And most important, both of these rays of sunshine are GOOD and HONORABLE HEROES, which, ding dong K*lo-Ron is NOT.
