This is dedicated to my two favorite ladies on television at the moment, Maya Hart and Riley Matthews, from the only show I can really even bother to care about anymore, GIRL MEETS WORLD!  (If you’re not watching, you need to be watching - jussayin’.)   These are two themes that I have made for roleplays recently, and I decided to tweak them a bit an release them since I’m sort of obsessed with them!  I’m so excited to be releasing them to the public, so I really hope that you guys like them!

#5: Google Images

I got to 200 followers today! To celebrate, I created a page theme based on google image search. It’s not an exact copy but it’s pretty darn close. I intended for it to be a character page theme but I’m sure you people can find plenty of uses for it.

Features:

• Looks like Google! What more could you want?
• Clicking on pictures will get you that slide-out info box with a bigger picture, just like google. Powered by gridder.js.
• The related images section can be used for aesthetic pictures or whatever you want.
• The pictures in the “search” are 200x200, the related images are 80x80. Both automatically resize as long as the picture you put in is square.
• The big images can be whatever size or dimensions you want, it’ll be resized to fit without warping.
• Setting it up can be confusing, so you should have intermediate html knowledge to use it.

( This guide will focus on choosing a diverse cast of POC FCs. )

Hello, my lovely RPers !!  Anyone who has admin’ed a roleplay knows the struggle of casting FCs for your characters. Representation is so important & crucial, and there are endless amounts of beautiful/wonderful POC FCs out there waiting to be used, but when it comes down to it, POC characters are harder to fill, and more often than we’d like, roleplays often opt to just leave POC FCs out of their cast all together. Fear not! I am here to lend a helping hand & get your FC list looking diverse and as beautiful as ever.

1. Know that because of poor representation in the media, the majority of roleplayers will recognize more caucasian FCs than they will POC, and familiarity is key when people choose FCs and characters. There are ways to work around this!
2. Look at what films are playing in your local theatres. What POC actors/actresses are in these? (They are more likely to be recognized) What about your favourite movies? Your favourite TV shows? POC characters you love and recognize are likely to be loved and recognized by others.
3. Look at other RPs. You don’t want to steal their cast list all together, but what POC FCs are they using? Which of these FCs are taken and being written? Some POC FCs are super popular, and having some of those in your RP will bring people in.
4. Some RPers use “lack of gifs/icons/etc” as an excuse not to play POC characters - so don’t let them use that excuse. At the end of your bios, leave links to gif hunts/icon hunts for that FC so the resources are avaliable to them. You can find POC FC gif hunts in RPH blogs, or in the tumblr tag. ( other tag to find them )
5. Do some research! Do some digging. Look around - there are LOTS of resources for POC models and actors/actresses if you’re having trouble coming up with some. Modelsofcolor is a great blog for POC models, and THIS is just one example of a great FC directory of POC.
6. Make sure you have more than 2 POC in your roleplay. If you have 40 characters and 4 are POC, you aren’t representing very well. A general rule of thumb I’ve had with my own RPs in the past is 2:1. For every 2 caucasian FCs I use, I use a POC as well. In one of my RPs, I used 1:1 - and really, that’s even better. Diversity & representation is not “one option” when admining - it’s essential.
