(Previous) A rather cocky smile grew upon pens face. He was proud of his knowledge of ships, It made his rather happy to be recognized. “Thanks, Vudof. I’ve always stated if you’re going to Navigate a ship threw space. You might as well know how it works.” Not that they did much navigating. He continues to shuffle through the datapads as he awaits the return of Vudof. Finally finding the one he was looking for. It had data on exactly what he said planets very little data on very little planets. The planet Era 9 was displayed upon it at the moment. It mentioned being a rather pretty planet, But there wasn’t much else. Ora 3 was also on there it seems to be similar to earth but with giant mushroom forest.

When Vudof returned he proceeded to place the datapad within Vudof’s reach before grabbing the Powercore. looking every inch of it over, seeing Irken technology like this once more made him more hopeful that maybe he could get the ship done. There was a bounce of excitement but as soon as he noticed what he was doing he halted. “Well it is… it is from an escape pod…It’s also a lot and I mean a lot better then” He proceeds to eye the shoddy power core he made with human tech. “This should most definitely work. If not I could..hmmm potentially…” He uses his free hand to tap his chin. “Make it stronger” His eyes narrow, As he checks every inch of the core. It looked in better shape then pen imagined it. It had a better chance of working then the power core he had been working on using human parts he could dig up.

He proceeds to place the power core on the table before looking at Vudof once more “Well I would love to see what could be salvageable from this escape pod of yours.“ He stands still before stating something he wanted to ask earlier but never got a chance to ask. “Hey, Have you seen any other Irkens well besides” The next word was said with pure hatred “Zim” His antenna twitched as he realized what he did “Sorry I did it again”

"That's a good philosophy. Do all navigators follow it?" If they did, it was news to him. It'd mean that he was behind, and that made him feel inadequate. While Vudof wasn't a navigator he did assist with navigational duties while overseeing the systems on the Massive. And he thought he was doing a good job with that. Maybe he just didn't know about everything they did because that wasn't his main job?

By the time Pen spoke again Vudof had already picked up the datapad and was looking it over. Ora 3 could work, although he'd rather not deal with the pollution. Maybe he could be his hands on some purifying technology if he had to live there. At least the emergency kit stocked in the escape pod included a water and localized air purifier. But Era 3 was worth investigating, maybe it would turn out to be a better option. He then turned his attention to the cores when Pen spoke again.

"I guess you could amplify the core, although it may have issues with getting overloaded. But you don't seem to have any better options. I'm amazed you managed to make anything out of that human trash but…" Vudof left that thought hanging. They both knew it looked like garbage, there was no need to say it. He wouldn't want to anger Pen and risk losing his best chance of getting off this planet.

"I parked the escape pod right next to your shed. You can use any parts you want, Idon't have any use for it anymore." Vudof gestured for him to follow and left the shed.

"And eh…. don't worry about it. I know Zim's an insufferable asshole. He's part of the reason I want to leave Earth." Actually, the main reason. Earth wouldn't be too bad if he didn't get himself stuck helping Zim. Although he was still better than The Tallest. At least he could talk back without fearing being deactivated.

"The only Irken I've seen besides us was Invader Skoodge. Or, well, maybe just Skoodge? I'm not sure if he kept his rank after the Tallest replaced him as the conqueror of Blorch because he's too short. He's actually a pretty swell guy. Much nicer than Zim. I have absolutely no clue why he hangs around Zim. Anyways, he lives in Zim's basement."

I started to scout out the surrounding area before leaving, but then I almost ran into some humans and turned back. I can't let them see me. I can't afford to get captured before I even reach Zim's base.

The escape pod's emergency supply kit doesn't have any disguises, so I'm currently waiting for nightfall to move. I'm guessing that the humans are diurnal because they're active now when their star is shining on this side of their planet. They have to have some period of inactivity because I highly doubt they have access to the bioengineering needed to eliminate the need for sleep.

I seem to be deep in a foliage zone, and my tracker indicates that it's close to Zim's base. The escape pod's landing gear and thrusters are broken beyond repair. Not that it matters, I don't have the skills for fixing the exterior parts of ships anyways. I covered it as best as I could for now. Hopefully Zim will be able to retrieve or dispose of it before it falls into human hands.

I'm glad I'm wearing gloves because this planet sure is… disgusting. But I guess I have to get used to it because I'm trapped here for the foreseeable future. ...I hate Urth already.

Oh my Tallest, I made it! I'm alive! I'm free! Shortly after I landed on Urth it left the florpus! I don't know exactly what happened, but I made it out!

But what now? The escape pod was smashed on impact, and even if it wasn't, I don't know where I would of gone. I left my old life, along with all of my belongings, behind on The Massive. All I have is the emergency supplies stocked in the pod and whatever happens to be in my Pak.

After much thought, I have reluctantly concluded that my only reasonable option is finding Zim.

"Ah..." Vudof finally picked up on his annoyance. He still wanted to ask more questions but figured it was best to not push it. It seemed like not every rouge Irken changed their minds about food preparation like him. The human's teaching methods sounded much more frustrating than Skoodge's. Although maybe that's why Pen managed to learn how to cook and he hadn't-- yet. Vudof had to try harder next time.

Vudof followed Pen closely without paying much attention to his surroundings until they got to the shed. He was pleasantly surprised at how big it was since he expected it to only fit one person. But there was easily enough room for Vudof to join Pen. The ship looked like it was coming along well, even if he didn't know enough about ship building to be sure. His speciality was installing systems after the electrical work had been completed.

"Looking good, Pen." As Vudof spoke he gave him a smile abd thumbs up. It actually looked shoddy, but that was more from the materials available than Pen's skills. He leaned over Pen's shoulder to try to see the datapads before realizing that he was crowding him and backed off.

"I'll be right back." Vudof ran outside and next to the shed where he parked. After a few moments he returned with the powercore that he extracted beforehand. Then he carefully placed it next to Pen while trying to keep a little distance and stepped back.

"Will this work? It shouldn't have any issues. I just hope it's powerful enough..." Escape pods rarely lasted long enough to fly a second time because they were so fragile from being built to optimize speed and take impact damage in place of their passenger. So most of their parts were cheap and not meant for long-term use.

"I show you the escape pod after you check out the power core so we could see what's salvageable. The thrusters and landing gear seem to be beyond repair, but I think the rest is useable."

It was easier than expected to get to the escape pods. None of the guards were paying attention. But there's no reason for them to expect anyone to leave when most Irkens are programmed for absolute loyalty. I'm the defective one lacking that programming, one they never expected to be among the Irken Elite.

I just left the Massive and my destination is the planet that incompetent-sorry-excuse-for-an-invader Zim brought here. Urth, was it? I don't want to rely on an Irken like that, but maybe, just maybe, if he managed to teleport a planet here in the first place, he can teleport it away. It's a slim chance, but the thinnest slimmer of hope is better than resigning myself to death.

Irken Time Headcanons

Date format: year month day hour:minute (hour and minute are optional) 18 months in a year 36 days in a month 27 hours in a day 54 minutes in an hour

Year: The Irken year is based on the Tallest's reign. - The Tallest's initial is placed in front of the year number -- In the case of multiple Tallest ruling at once, the symbols are placed on top of each other so there's no order implying relative rank differences between them -- If a letter is repeated, the later Tallest use the first two letters of their name

-- I think the current Tallest are fairly young, at only a few hundred years old? - The year number is how long the current Tallest has been in power. -- The coronation year is year 0 of the era, and any part of the year that already passed retroactively becomes part of the new Tallest's era.

Time format: Each ship uses two clocks - The clock for Irk -- Recalibrated frequently -- Used for communications/ scheduling with people not on the ship - The ship's internal clock -- Matches the perceived time of the inhabitants of the ship -- Used for communications and scheduling on board -- Recalibrated with Irk's clock periodically (maybe when approaching important holidays?)

We're entering the florpus. Is this really the end? I don't want to die! At least not like this! Why should we have to die for the stubbornness of our leaders, for their insistence on following meaningless, self imposed rules? Is it really worth all of our lives to never turn? If they would just listen to me, an Irken trained since birth to guide The Massive, we wouldn't be in this mess!

I hate this. My life has been meaningless, and my death will be just as meaningless. Does it really matter to anyone if I die?

…Actually, it doesn't. Nothing will change if I escape and survive. No, the very thought of abandoning my leaders is treasonous!

But why should I be loyal to the end? What has this empire brought me other than aimless misery? Nothing really matters and I'm sick of it. So why shouldn't I just leave? Everyone on this ship is already dead as far as the rest of the universe is concerned. Maybe I can use this situation to flee the empire and finally start living

Both The Massive and Urth just entered the florpus.

Vudof glanced around as he walked into the house, making sure to shut the door behind him. Was this how human houses were supposed to look like? It seemed so drab and bright compared to Zim's home. Although that wasn't saying much when Zim's house was so gaudy and poorly lit.

"Wow, thanks!" Vudof stepped forward and accepted the bag, then looked inside. They looked so good! He was geninuely impressed. How did a navigator learn how to bake? There was never a chance for him to learn on The Massive because he lacked both the time and supplies. At the time he was comfortable with it because he bought into the idea that cooking was beneath him, and thought that it was easy work anyone could do.

But when he tried cooking with Skoodge he realized just how wrong he was. It was a difficult skill that was as much of a science as it was an art, and it was a necessary if he had any hopes of living alone. Vudof's cooking skill was sorely lacking. None of his attempts so far had been edible. He wished he appreciated the food service drones on The Massive when he could.

A smile was visible on his face when he rolled down his sweater collar so he could eat. "How'd you learn how to cook? Did you use an Irken or Earthen recipe?" Vudof failed to notice Pen's disgust.

"I'll just save these for later since I already ate breakfast." He slipped the rest of the bag into his Pak's storage as he continued to eat, using his spare hand as a makeshift plate to avoid leaving crumbs. "Where's the backdoor? I'm excited to see what you have so far."

@commsofficerirken Pen finally finished cleaning the house and shed making sure everything was ready for a new visitor. Though the house didn’t have much furniture within it, to begin with. The house had 2 floors as far as Pen was aware of there was the basement and the ground level. It had a kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms 1 bath, a den, and an office. A hallway stretched from the kitchen leading to a door that opened to the backyard. it was a rather spacious backyard. Most of the rooms were painted different shades of green except Pen’s bedroom. the whole house covered in wooden floors except the tiled bathroom. The layout of the house was a bit off or at least the random window in the kitchen was, it showed the outside but from what anyone could tell the other side of the wall was a living room. The bathroom’s mirror didn’t reflect anything. Also, the fridge in the kitchen wasn’t connected to anything. Pen however never really noticed how strange that was, then again he never dived too deep into how human architecture was supposed to be.

The outside of the house was painted dark blue the windows trimmed with brown oak the door was made of the same material the door had a normal everyday doorbell, though pen would never admit it sometimes he would have to stand on his tiptoes to even reach it.

Pen was only an inch taller then Zim his height was a sensitive subject for him (being that on the food-chain of the Irken navigators he was one of the lowest-ranked, he also had to work really hard to get any recognition.), alongside his strange upside-down Pak. Though his Pak was actually an easy fix all he had to do was go to the medical Irken to fix it but he always found himself to busy with work or getting caught up with blitz’s mess when he was training, oh boy did he hate that Irken. Even more than Zim. Once he was done he decided it would be best to stay nearby the door he stood outside in front of the door in disguise staring down at his communication pad that almost looked like a grey tablet. only slightly paying attention to the stone walkway that leads up to the house.

Pen wore his usual human disguise a pink and white hoodie with goggles to cover his eyes, he also wore a nice brown wig and black pants. They still wore Irken gloves/boots and didn’t even bother disguising their green skin. However from what he could tell people just thought it was some kind of skin condition.

Vudof cursed himself for not asking for more details. Finding the address wasn't a problem, but where should he park? Should he park up front like a normal human and go to the front door? Or should he park next to the shed? It would keep the humans from seeing it, and if he didn't he'd eventually have to it there anyways.

After thinking it over he realized that continuing to hover over the house was more conspicuous than anything else he could do. He landed in the backyard, looked to check if anyone was around while hopping the fence, and went around to the front walk.

Vudof double checked the address on his communication device before ringing the doorbell. As he waited he scrolled through his documents on his communication device, which was an Earthen smartphone with the software from his Irken tablet ported onto it. One of his documents was a rough assessment on the condition of the escape pod and what parts may be useable. The other was just what he used to organize his thoughts, and notes on what he might discuss with the other Irken.
