Hey guys, I'm sorry this took so incredibly long. TBH this is part of why I made the timeline so much longer than most digital zines - I know my executive functioning can be a bit of a mess, especially when getting things started. Applications will be accepted until April 15th, so you have about a month to express your interest in participating!

I want to stress there's no "trick questions" or anything of the sort here - we will be considering mod and layout applications without experience. Everyone has to start somewhere after all!

PLEASE SIGNAL BOOST THIS APP! I'd love to see some new faces on this project. ^^ Here's a graphic you can use around the internet, if you like!

Hello I wanted to check if you were interested in applying for the 20th anniversary zine for SRMTHG @srmt-zine? Nevermind this if you aren't interested.

Hello! Yes, I would love to take part in the SRMTHG zine :)

It sounds like a wonderful project and I'd be honored to participate.

Making a manta shaped baker in Ceramics because reasons.

It's currently been bisque fired with a white slip coating. This upcoming week will be our last week to finish off any projects so I'm planning to glaze this little guy Tuesday class alongside a few bowls and jars :)

Kinda stressed tbh since we've had to really rush our projects for finish but hopefully our work will turn out well enough. Gonna make sure I have a solid concept for this guy before Tuesday class so as not to waste time.

Don’t stress yourself with the details, just have fun. I find that sometimes the best results happen when you’re not fiddling with the fine details too much and just enjoying the experience. Put on your favourite music and let that guide you to produce whatever, it might turn out that you like the result better when you’re just plainly enjoying yourself. Don’t think too much, go with the flow. You’ve got this! If the first try where you’re thinking too much isn’t going well, try a different approach. You’ve got this sani!

Thank you, Miss Kari. I appreciate your words of advice. I suppose I am filled with immense guilt right now having been so inactive for that last few years, not actively practicing, so naturally my skills aren’t where I’d like them to be. I know it is unfair to be so hard on myself (and yet), but I know I’ll get there with time and effort. I’ll fall in love with my art again.

In your older work, the way you used colors looked sharper and provided more contrast to draw attention to the main subject against the background. I feel like more of your newer pieces try to keep the colors more harmonious, but end up making the subject blend with the background and lose focus. Different pieces need different kinds of lighting, but I think if you tried some with harsher lighting, you can get a better feel of keeping a cohesive palette without losing the main focus in your art.

Hmmm. I fully agree with your statement about lighting. I’ve felt lately I’ve not quite been hitting it right. I either feel it ‘s too much or isn’t right at truly highlighting the subjects. It’s been a struggle to achieve a balance of the elements in my art.

I think I could perhaps partake in color studies to gain a better sense of color work, try some lighting studies.

Thank you for your input, Anon. I’ll keep this in mind with future works.

A throwback post of an old painting I had done four years ago - Classic Tails. Miles “Tails” Prower has always been a character I've had a soft spot for, as I often found him relatable growing up.

Small and timid in his beginnings, not really knowing who he was. Tails has grown throughout his adventures, gaining confidence and appreciating his own unique talents, learning that he himself is incredible in his own right.

We can all become our own hero. You can achieve new heights!
