“Merci.” Saya replies curtly. It would be rude to not acknowledge his compliment. All she knew was that she was named after her real mother. Many people said that her name was unusual, and it meant “swift arrow”.
She frowns as the clothes thief speaks about those with less than noble intentions. It was what Joel had warned her about after all. Even though she couldn’t help but wonder about the outside world at times, Joel told her than she was not wise enough to deal with the people who made the outside world a cruel place.
Saya’s lowered her brows even more as the man points out her lack of knowledge. “Hmmph.” She scoffed as she grips the coins in her palms. “Now, that we are done with our trade. Begone.” She speaks the last word with a harsh tone. She immediately turns around as she begins walking back towards Diva’s tower. How ludicrous, what a waste of time dealing with a strange thief! It was so much trouble in the name of justice.
However, as the grounds of the tower began to come into view, she sees a group of men in white coats that she’s never seen before entering the tower. She immediately panics as she couldn’t be seen entering these grounds! Joel would forbid her from entering again if he found out! She immediately turns around and runs!
One of the men in white had caught glimpse of movement, yet wasn’t sure what exactly he’d seen. However, due to the secretive nature of the Tower it wasn’t as if they could let it pass off as an animal without at least checking. Were a rogue servant to have stumbled upon this place and learned too much, they’d need to be... sent away.
Going back the way she came was smart, yet the trio of men were now going to be looking in her direction. Heels did not make suitable footwear for running, thus they’d close the gap sooner than later. As the noblewoman passed a particularly large tree, a hand would grab her wrist to pull her towards the owner of it. Before a likely scream or word could escape her, a gloved hand pressed firmly over her mouth to muffle her.
The two were nestled underneath a large hole beneath the roots. It had grown lacking soil beneath it and thus had formed in an awkward angle, but it certainly made for a good hiding hole. Sadly, it was rather snug, and thus the individual pressed his back to the soil. This left Saya’s back pushed into his chest to ensure her feet didn’t show from the outside.
“Stay quiet and they’ll pass.”
A familiar voice whispered into her ear so as not to draw attention. Seems he hadn’t left with the haste she would likely have hoped, but it seems that turned out in her favor.
After about ten minutes, the Herald would remove his hand from the other’s lips.
“Alright, I think it’s safe for now.”
