She was seven weeks shy of her due date. The doctor had assured her that everything looked okay and all that was left was waiting. At that point the baby could be born and be okay (but tiny), the rest of the pregnancy was just giving him time to grow. Which meant she was just going to be as big as a house. She was due right around New Year’s day which, if nothing else, was a spectacular reason why she couldn’t be expected to go to her parents’ home for the holidays- yes, she had eventually come clean and told her parents that she was having a baby. Of course, she’d waited until she was seven months along and only after she and Jack had the world’s tiniest wedding (that could still be considered a wedding and not eloping). Well, she was already pregnant and married by then, what could they do to her?
