Nichelle Nichols has passed away.

Martin Luther King once convinced her to continue on as Uhura when she was about to quit. He told her how she was a role model for so many people and had to stay on. He rightfully recognized her as a trailblazer and the inspiration she continued to be.

(Second picture is Nichols participating in a recruitment program for NASA in late 70s/early 80′s, aimed at women and people of color. The third picture is Nichols onboard the stratospheric observatory for infrafred astronomy in 2017, as one of the first non essential personell to be able to do so)

Forever one of my favorites, a true icon, a legend, an artist. Rest in power, goddess, and thank you.

Hello Mr Gaiman,

Is the attention to details in season 2 of Good Omens as perfect as in season 1?

P.S: Love Good Omens

Avatar

I'm afraid not.

For example, in Season 1 of Good Omens, the part of a demon named Crowley was played by actor David Tennant. Budget cuts in Season 2 mean that the part of Crowley in Season 2 will be shared between a glove puppet, a dear friend of the production manager's named, I believe, Raoul, and five trained fennec foxes wearing an overcoat.

I love this man.

Marvel : let’s just imply that they might be gay but not actually make them gay

The Old Guard : You’re a child. An infant. Your mocking is thus infantile. He’s not my boyfriend. This man is more to me than you can dream. He’s the moon when I’m lost in darkness and warmth when I shiver in cold. And his kiss still thrills me even after millennia. His heart overflows with the kindness of which this world is not worthy of. I love this man beyond measure and reason. He’s not my boyfriend. He’s all and he’s more.

Heeeee. The Old Guard was not that good, but they got the Nick x Joe story right.

The Boys

Watched the first season of The Boys and it was much better than I was expecting. I actually liked it way more than the comics - sorry, I cant with Ennis endless misogyny and gore porn.

The cast is awesome and the best ensemble I’ve seen in a long time. The chemistry between all of them is off the charts. Acting is solid. Antony Starr is the MVP. Chace Crawford is really good. Karl should shave and the accent drove me nuts, but he *is* Butcher.

Lots of sex. Lots of nudity.

All the violence expected, lots of it.

The show is beautifully shot and the special effects are awesome. GIF folks will have a ton of material to work.

A few episodes were credited to female writers and that shows on screen, because the female characters are much better than they ever were on paper. Point taken: Susan (Jennifer Esposito) not taking Butcher’s crap, while in the comics each dialogue between them was just horrid and demeaning. A few gender reversals really well done.

Starlight/Hughie work.

Simon Pegg is ❤️

Kripke and co did a great job flashing out the characters; everybody has a past and a trauma, but they are still who they are: Homelander still a fucking psychopath and Butcher still a fucking sociopath.

Lots of mentions of supers other than the Seven, including Lamplighter. We see Popclaw.

Haley Joel Osment has a great role in two episodes.

Lots of dark humor.

There is a very nice scene at a con that is so right you know whoever wrote it know what she/he is talking about.

Huge cliffhanger that is a 180 degrees turn from the comics. Die hard comics fans will have a heart attack.

Loved the soundtrack.

Loved the Female and her backstory.

Loved Frenchie.

I give it a solid 8, it is a good show but this season is all about introducing the characters and revealing parts of their parts and building the whole universe.

Worth bingewatching.
