i split the rips of kaguya season 1 into individual files based on their chapters but that resulted in many more files than episodes and plex expects 1 file = 1 episode so now I'm trying to guess where an episode begins or ends.

For now though: it works for watching with 1 or 2 people without issue. Even though my xeons don't have media extensions surely to god with 32 cores it can manage real time transcoding of 1080p.
I need to get the GPU plugged in and working properly - it's AMD though so I'm not sure if plex will use it for hardware acceleration or not. I hope so. I also forgot to plug in the case USB headers to the expansion card I had. Would also like to get an internal blu ray drive.
regardless: shopping for gifts for me is easy now - just get me physical copies of media that I can archive digitally. long distance movie nights are significantly easier too. I do need to fix some things though.
for series I need to work on my file organization a bit. for example kaguya has one season where a single episode is split into multiple files and that's why it has an obscenely high episode count. Violet evergarden has two files which are the two discs the series came on. https://t.co/SqIOuQLqAR
