musing sideblog for all your muse's thoughts and sayings. requests: OPEN.

Hello, probably haven't seen this blog pop up in a while if you were following! I'm sorry about that but glad to see you've stuck around. ❤

I took a bit of a hiatus from Tumblr for mental health and other real life reasons, but I'm back and don't intend on abandoning this blog anytime soon. I have some unposted musings in my drafts that I'm going to work on stylizing and posting for you guys but in the meantime (and afterwards), inbox & requests are back open. Happy musings!

It's been a long time since I saw this blog- I honestly thought you were dead or inactive... I was wondering if you still did musing requests? your formatting was always so pleasing.

I mean, the blog certainly does go through periods of extended absence and inactivity, in part due to my own real life obligations, managing my own RP blogs, and then the fact that the Tumblr RPC has been gradually dying out (in no small part thanks to staff’s decisions), which makes it hard to garner motivation to make content. And what does get posted has a much more mild response to it than it once did, so that curbs my motivation as well. I have a handful of unformatted, unposted musings in the drafts, but, again, motivation.

I do still do musings requests though! It may take me a bit longer to get to but if they’re specifically requested I’m more than happy to do them. And thank you. <3

this   is   love,  you say,        slipping      bullets                past  my  lips           with  every  kiss.
isn’t  this  what  you          wanted   ━━
a   muzzle   between                your   teeth, gun      smoke        in                your    eyes,
the  taste     of  copper on   the                         tongue, the  smell  of        iron         in the air.
it  is  as  they  say; love  is  like              violence:
there  will  always  be blood  on  your  hands                 by  the  end.

i.     “get used to dying,” father told me.        “you will have many deaths,         many burials and many graves,         and no time to mourn any of them.”
ii.      but how? death is the end,          not the journey, and I am no cat.          I do not have nine lives—          only one.
iii.      he smiles, and it is sharp; cruel.           I realize — too late — it is a knife,           unsheathed. the messenger of           my first death.
iv.      “the first of many,” he asserts.           was that a prediction, or a promise?           better not to ask; knowledge itself,           is its own kind of death.
v.       father was right.
dying is the same as anything else:           you get better at it with experience.
vi.      but it doesn’t get any easier, crawling           and clawing your way out of the dirt.           not the kind you can see or smell,
but oh, you can feel it. it’s impossible           not to drag up grave soil with you           when your body is a cemetery.
vii.     eventually you learn           life is made of little deaths,           like a burden, growing.
viii.    death doesn’t scare humanity;           it’s life — living, that terrifies us           and we turned it into a rehearsal,           a stage.

Are there any guidelines for musings requests? I’m on mobile so I can’t see much ^^;

no problem! I decided I was going to revamp my FAQ into a general ‘guide’ page and cut down on some unnecessary fluff in there. so I’ll just copy-paste these guidelines from the new guidelines page for you:

  • all written work here is my own unless noted otherwise (will be tagged as “#not mine”). please do not copy, repost or redistribute elsewhere, thank you.
  • please don’t chat or roleplay on my posts. don’t edit them either. I’m fine with people mentioning / @ing someone in the post, but that’s it.
  • if you want me to post a copy of another musing I’ve already posted, but with different pronouns, just ask!
  • if you have a quote / musing / etc you want me to post for you, feel free to send it into my inbox and I will stylize + post it for you. if you didn’t come up with the quote, please specify the source as well. same goes for lyrics.
  • you can also request for me to go through a song, movie, etc to post musings / quotes from it.
  • if you don’t have something specific you want posted, but just general “topics” for me to creating musings based off of (like a specific scenario, i.e. “tragedy”, or a feeling, i.e. “sadness”), tell me and I can create musings to fit that ‘vibe’.
  • everyone is more than welcome to just send me questions or comments if you want to chat with someone, or you need advice. my inbox is always open.

Then turn selfishness into a weapon! Make all things yours! Make other lives and dreams and hopes yours! Protect them! Save them! Bring them into the sheepfold! Walk the gale for them! Keep away the wolf! My dreams! My brother! My family! My land! My world! How dare you try to take these things, because they are mine!
