Nicole: Wow, Waverly, a present? But I didn’t get you anything. I’ll make it up to you I swear.
Waverly: Nicole, it’s your birthday.
Nicole: Still.

I’m like full on fed up with fandoms on this hellsite. If all you can handle is fluff fiction, that’s what AO3 is for. Go there??? Leave the rest of us who are actually interested in stories with characters who aren’t perfect smiling happy campers 24/7 in peace, and stop harassing the writers because you had to experience 30 minutes of angst. I’ve seen some truly horrendous shows that victimized their gay characters over and over without any positive payoff at all ever, and that’s something to be legitimately upset about. Writers writing gay characters like they’re actual people and not token 2d virtue signals isn’t.

To be fair, I’m pretty sure Waverly never told Nicole she’s married to a skull either

This needs to be said

You all beg for ships to be treated equally and have actual plot and when it’s given to you with good story and great acting you all get up in arms.

Let the story play out. If you don’t like it, thats okay! but don’t complain when you wanted the ship to be angsty have a plot.

They can’t be happy always A) thats not realistic and B) ITS A SHOW! Not even the main character of the show has a stable relationship! a show needs drama to survive!

Not only that but they are making the character 3 dimensional! Nicole had a whole live before coming to Purgatory. So did waves! so did all of them.

Ok but the fact that Nicole doesnt talk to her parents anymore really explains why she’s so awkward and skittish any time her and Waverly are walked in on. She’s probably gotten caught before and been yelled at for it, and now she runs away any time they get caught because she doesn’t want to go through that again. And even when you know you’re in a safe place, it’s hard to unlearn that fear

“Why do you have so many photos of that actress on your phone?”

Just a couple things

1. Since wynonna convinced them to name her waverly then is she gonna be called welcome in this timeline?
 2. No dead uncle=no skull treasure hunt BUT that doesn’t mean no champ breakup 2.a) but then again it would’ve been way too soon for wayhaught to be getting married but then again that engagement ring though BUT THEN AGAIN it did look like a dream sequence 3. Why does doc remember wynonna when he’s stuck down that well? 4. Blacksmith is gonna still be alive right? 5. How do Jeremy and Welcome know eachother? 6.WHY DIDNT SHE JUST TELL NICOLE SHE LOVED HER THAT COULDVE BEEN THE LAST TIME SHE SAW HER AWAKE 7. Is Welcome the heir now??? 7.a) OR is daddy, mama & Willa earp alive and well? Which would make the Dad still the heir I suppose

While im hyped up on this topic that this fandom has turned into a controversy, let me throw this into the void: a wlw relationship that doesn’t touch on serious issues is just as dangerous to our community as byg.

When I was little baby gay, I watched Tara get killed by a stray bullet, Willow go evil, and her struggle to come back from that. She mostly did but it was always hanging over her. Even into the comics. I was a kid. That was the rep I saw growing up. It is shitty being young, gay, living in a strict religious environment, closeted, and only seeing a semblance of yourself in the media that is absolutely tortured in some way. Makes you feel like you will never get a happy ending, because you never saw lesbians have happy endings. I know for some of you Lexa was the introduction to the issue. 10+ years (I don’t feel like looking it up) later, youth still see queer love get punished. That’s dangerous.

But let’s flip that around. Say writers only give us wlw who don’t have problems. Don’t cheat. Don’t lie. Don’t make mistakes. Now we’re telling our young, most impressionable gays that they’ve gotta be perfect like all the great, happy relationships they see on TV. Now we’re giving them an unrealistic standard that is just as unhealthy as showing them all their relationships are gunna be tragic.

How can we as a community, in any good conscience, say that wlw who make mistakes is bad rep? When we reduce portrayals of relationship to just the mistakes made in them (cheating, lying) we’re invalidating the very real, very important parts of their experiences that lead them to that mistake and the resolution of those mistakes. We’re ignoring their whole story. We can’t say suddenly a relationship is shit rep when it becomes realistic, because then we’re telling ourselves the minute we make our own mistakes, we’re shit people. And what kind of hypocritical bullshitters does that make us? What kind of message is that sending the youth?

It is refreshing and fucking great seeing a pairing being happy and healthy. But what is beneficial to our community is seeing that same pairing deal with real shit that happens to real wlw.

Yes! Thank you Emily! Well put. ‘There’s drama in real life so there should be on tv’ and with Wynonna Earp it’s always going to be more bat shit crazy because of the world they live in! In the Andras I continue to trust 😊
