The text comes as a welcome distraction from textbooks.  Even if he likes his major now, that didn’t mean all the work and chapters assigned were necessarily interesting.  Yosuke pulls his phone out of pocket, and reads it over as he leans back into the couch of his cramped apartment.
It’s a pleasant surprise to get a text from Amagi.  He wasn’t sure if he’d ever hear from or not.  Hardly a minute passes before, he texts her back.
[SMS][To: Amagi] jst cuz im drowning in hw, doesnt mean i want 2 do it rn.  n yea i still wanna talk.
[SMS][To: Amagi] ill meet u there in 30?
He thankfully doesn’t live too far from campus.  Enough time to get redressed for a bar and be there before 30 minutes is up.  After getting a drink from the counter, he makes himself comfortable at one of the tables.
[SMS][To: Amagi]: middle table by the window

Clothes on as she saw her phone buzz in response, Yuki winced quickly at his texting style. “See that never changed.” A smirk given before grabbing her small bag of things and heading out to the bar.

As she got closer to it, her phone buzzed again. He was already there, a frustrated sigh came next only from wanting to have at least one drink in herself to calm her nerves of being around someone who she wasn’t the most fond of in the past. Though the thought of him being different was there too.

Opening the door to the bar, music invading her ears quickly as she eyes the crowded dance floor of college students. First things first, she went up to the bar and got herself something strong. Sipping it slowly, dark brown eyes connected to where Yosuke was sitting alone.

It only took a few strides to get to the table before sitting down across from him. Legs crossed and grateful that the table area was a little more closed off for people wanting to actually talk.

“So do you come here often?” A giggle comes next from Yukiko then, first drink already gone.

There’s just enough anger behind that comment that Yosuke can hear it.  Resentments always end up rearing like that.  It wasn’t as if he had been particularly kind to Amagi in the past.  Apologizing isn’t something he cares to do though, not when he wouldn’t mean it.  Instead, he lets out a sigh and nods.
“Fair enough.”
His eyes widen slightly in shock as Amagi says she still has his number.  It isn’t as if he doubted they were friends (as complicated as that friendship was).  But friendship has stopped people from completely cutting ties with him in the past.  And with Amagi having left town without a word, he didn’t have much of a reason to believe she was any different.  Opening his mouth, he’s dumbstruck, struggling to find a response.
“Uh… cool.  Yeah, so call me sometime then?”
The sound of students moving around campus gets louder as people scramble to get to their next class.  Yosuke pulls out his phone to check the time.  Maybe he could get there in time of he ran.  Doubtful though.
“And I’m probably gonna be late for class now… I should run.  But I’ll see you around, Amagi.”

“See ya, Hanamura.” Bag slung over as she herself made off to her own class. Her last class of the day, art. She would probably get a few looks for showing up late, but with how much the teacher praised her they knew it would be ignored.

The whole period her mind wandering on Yosuke, in turn causing her to sketch out something from her past again. It hadn’t been the first time she had drawn a Persona, which was usually hers or one of the many that Narukami had used. Yet this time...it was Jiraiya on the page.

Leaning back in her chair, a sigh quickly came from Yukiko. Phone flipped open, she texted him at the end of class.

[SMS][To: Hanamura] Hey, if you’re not drowning in homework. Want to come meet at the bar near the school?

[SMS][To: Hanamura] That is, if you want to talk still.

Walking home while sending the texts, she knew it would be for the best to change into something more night time appropriate. Though she didn’t want to show off for him.

“Leggings and a shirt it is. If the ass actually responds.”

I’ve been kinda not super motivated this week either, but it’s more so because friends are in town and I’m getting excited for going on vacation as well.

I will be going to Portland, Oregon (Well, actually be in Aloha, Oregon…but it’s very close to Portland.) for a week with the boyfriend. Will be visiting with and staying with friends for the whole week, but I will be bringing my laptop.

Whenever there’s some down time or I just need to detox I will more than likely be on to work on drafts and such. Other than that, I will be on Discord!

After a night out on the town and having him stay over, Yuki rolled out of bed a little hungover. It wasn’t as bad as usual only because she did her best to moderate her drinks while with him. Rubbing her head for a moment, she glanced back at her sleeping boyfriend as a fun thought rolled through her mind.

Walking out of her room for a few moments to take care of a few needs from her body, Yuki walked back into the bedroom and pulled a pair of handcuffs out from her own dresser. Unlike his official ones, they were covered in leather to ease the tugging into skin.

“Hey, not my fault that you didn’t know how to take a joke back then.”  Somehow, Yosuke doubts this back and forth will ever go away, but it’s alright so long as it’s playful.  He finds himself slipping back into his usual easygoing smile.
He tilts his head a little too look at the cherry blossoms blooming up her neck.  It’s definitely cool, but he’s not about to stroke Amagi’s ego and say as much.  Although it certainly makes him question getting his own tattoos and piercings.  He blinks before returning her gaze as she continues talking.
“Uh, yeah.  I get what you mean.  I think going through all that changed all of us, so of course, it gonna come through in your art.”
Yosuke sighs and wonders exactly how many people expected him to play out his dad’s life.  His parents certainly, but it seems like everyone figured he would stay in Inaba or at least return to it.  While he may consider it home, he has no intention of living a quiet, rural life.

“Dad had me working at Junes since I turned 14.  I think that’s enough time to say that I hate that fucking place.  Besides after picking up guitar junior year, I never put it down.  I’d continue this show and tell session, but I only haul my guitar across campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Or you can text me and we can meet up after class if you kept my phone number.”

“Calling me a bitch half of the time doesn’t really help if a dumb joke is going to follow.” The comment had bite to it, but in the end she really didn’t care much of what he thought of her. Not anymore anyways, even with the few small compliments he had given her today after a few years gone by.

The other cigarette finished, butt also shoved back into the box before flicking her phone open. Five minutes left to get to class, guess it was time to move along. Bag shifted back on as well as the hoodie being fixed. She eyes Yosuke again.

Expectations of the both of them were high when they were younger. Both of them being told through most of their lives that they were going to take over their parent’s once they were old enough. Yukiko’s rebellion of the Inn was much more noticeable than Yosuke’s in high school.

“After class? Sure, fine.” Glancing back towards him, a smirk then came from her. “Yeah, I still have your number...”

Even with the bickering all through high school, he was still somewhat a friend.

Even with her hair short, there was still something satisfying for Yu about stroking it, about soothing her with soft touches and a gentle kiss to the top of her head. Finally, with her calming down properly, he could stop having to be half-ready to play cop all over again.
The rest of the trip home was easy, as easy as it could be, and if anyone was up that late to spy and spread rumors, they weren’t making it obvious.
Yu was still in uniform when he got Yuki sat down on the couch, brought her some water to help with the eventual hangover, and plopped himself down next to her to pull her right back into his arms again. Maybe there was something to say, some perfect phrase that would reassure her, make her feel a little bit safer, but all he could think of were promises, the kind he’d broken before, whether he meant to or not.
The best he could do was to just sit on that couch and be there for her.

Being sat in the front of his vehicle instead of the back was always much more of a pleasure then getting nasty looks of passerbys if they ever got to see her full blown drunk and pissed off at him. At least she hadn’t broken anything in his car as of yet. Silence filled the car as they drove back to her apartment, the kiss that he had planted on her forehead still lingering as the other feeling her body had.

Once arriving and grateful that he had the key she gave him ready, Yuki was still very obviously drunk. Walking was a bit difficult, but being helped inside and set on the couch was much easier than watching her try. Water was gifted next which she sipped some before setting it down on the side table right as he pulled her closer.

Head burying itself into his neck, doing her best not to hit any of the metal or his radio that was quietly buzzing with calls and responses. The silence had followed them into her place as well. Though Yuki was going to break it quickly, by pushing him out.

“You’re still on the job, don’t lose it because of your fucked up girlfriend.” Voice still soft, breath full of alcohol, yet sounding sober. How easy it was to play the drunk girl game when she only ever wanted to feel numb from drinking.

Somewhere in the back of his mind, there was some awful part of him that liked seeing Yukiko like this. Or, at least, he would, if he didn’t know exactly what was going on behind that facade, all the things she was doing everything in her power to not think about.
“Come here.” One of Yu’s arms went around Yukiko’s shoulders, and for a moment, it looked like he might be taking her up on her offer, right there in front of everyone. His other one curled around her waist to pull her in properly, and….
Hug her.

Her body just stopped as well as her mind as he hugged her. She was expecting him to do it. Usually he’d just drag her into his car and take her home, ignoring anything she spouted off in her drunk tangents. Standing there stock still, her own arms just flat to her sides. Yuki was confused, even if she was drunk.

Emotions swirling and conflicted on what to do or say next, her head slumped on his shoulder then. A single tear rolled down her cheek then, hidden from the rest of the world. She would never allow anyone except Yu to see her that way. The world only deserved the rude and brash self.

“...take me home, Narukami.” Was all she uttered out, words flat and spoken as if she was stone cold sober suddenly.
