Starmyu S2 Final Episode Highlights

I have… very complicated feelings about the last episode. So excuse me while I vent for a paragraph:

It was like 80% WTF THAT MAKES NO SENSE YOU CAN’T DO THAT WHUUUUT EVEEEEEN????!!?? (i.e. the part where Ageha is learning the song and choreography THAT last minute??? like??? ok??? sounds fake, but ok???? Ageha is great and I’m sure he’s super talented, but… this is just not very realistic?) Other things I’m salty about: Inumine not getting the spotlight he deserves (I was SO HOPEFUL SO FUCKING HOPEFUL AND THEN YOU RIPPED IT APART THANKS), Ootori and Hiragi not being able to perform that duet together because honestly that song is beautiful and I want them to sing the entire song together (will I ever be over it? probably fucking not), people ignoring Tatsumi’s advice, like, I love that line “Even if you step down now, there’s nothing to be ashamed of.” — it’s a good lesson and fitting for this episode. 

The other 20% of me is happy about how good the entire duet sounds and the last ensemble version of “Gift” has me weeping. 

Also the part where Toraishi encourages Kuga. Good shit good shit.

Anyway, S2 started out so promising and I might have had high expectations for it, which was clearly a mistake, LOL. It’s funny because it was the opposite when I was watching S1: the beginning made me wanna stop but I pushed through it and the second half was amazing, and that’s why I was so looking forward to S2 in the first place. Next week’s special episode should be fun though now that this arc is finally over. I can see them announcing S3… since they can still go with the main cast getting into Kao Council and what have you, but I don’t know how I’d feel about it, honestly.

Starmyu Ep. 11 Highlights

I, er, wasn’t expecting that sort of a cliffhanger. But if Ageha is fine, there’s no reason for Hoshitani to be injured??? Anyway. 

Best scenes:

Inumine and Hoshitani singing at each other during breakfast while the other boys are just: :/ 

Toraishi fixing Kuga’s costumes and snapping him out from his nervousness. BLESS THIS SCENE.
