Mr. Qwerty of Santoff Claussen

@quirkylittlebookworm / quirkylittlebookworm.tumblr.com

None of this art is mine.)) Whew! I do believe I have time to say hello. Our dear Ombric has an extensive library to manage and care for, immense fun, but I'm glad to have some little hands to help me out. Some days I haven't been feeling well since I've returned to work, but I shall do my best to help you out when I can. M!A: Kaitain, an old Star Pilot, is possessing him for 10 days. July 25th.

"Are there any books about my father in here?"

“Hm?” The eldest resident of Santoff Claussen turned from the experiment he had been watching to glance through large glasses at his newest guest. Oh there was no mistaking the face before him and it drew him to pause.

“I do. Several in fact. I suppose it depends on what side of your father you wish to see. Would you like some tea?” Calmly he moved towards a common room where two plush, wing backed chairs sat facing each other on an angle towards a contented fire in the large hearth.

Ducks his head with the faintest of sighs, glancing away into distance and time. “If you wish to believe so, my Lord.” He had readers… every time he went home. Surely… “However if there is anything I have learned from those Guardians that you created, it is that I have faith in myself and at least one small believer. In this case, one reader.” Instantly Katherine came to mind and his whole countenance radiated joy. “Does this mean you and I can still play chess occasionally?”

"Don’t touch him!”

The bookworm fluttered in distress as the shout finally alerted him to the beast of a fearling coming up behind him. With a toss his book dissolved into dust and the Librarian made a dash for it.

“Ah! Well done there, my new friend. Shall we both put some distance between ourselves and two feet back there?” Despite the threat he had only barely escaped, he had a bright, breathless smile on his face.

Jack nodded at the other and dashed away from the seen, but not before slamming his crook on the floor covering it in slippery ice.

"Right on time as always... Ah, you're Jack Frost aren't you? I've heard much of you from Tsar Lunar and North. A pleasure to meet you."

Glancing around and taking a snowglobe from a pocket that it truly should not have fit within, he brushed off his red waistcoat and tossed it forward, "Santoff Claussen!" Smiling, he motioned to Jack, "Would you like to accompany me? I am quite sure you could teach the kids a thing or two about mischief."

"Hello dear! Do come in, it's cold out there even in summer. Would you like tea or hot cocoa? Coffee even? There's a lovely fire going. My name is Mr. Qwerty, I am the Keeper of the Library here in mystical Santoff Claussen. To what do I owe this pleasure and what may I call you?" The three foot glowworm with a leather spine and paper wings beamed brightly under gold rimmed glasses as he held the door open for his newest visitor.

holly didn’t notice the creature until he began talking. she was   too busy marveling at the sweet little town. but once he began,   he had her full attention, and she stepped inside the library.

“ holly! my name’s holly. it’s so nice       to meet you, sir! “

she looked him over thoughtfully, taking in the glowworm’s    appearance.

     “ i suppose now i’m here… i’d like       to look at a book. “

“It is lovely to meet you, Miss Holly. Is there a particular book you are looking for? A range of genre or author or series? I assure you this library is the most comprehensive in the known universe aside from perhaps a Constellation Lord’s.”

He laughed in delight and fluttered up into the air to venture towards the endless stacks that spiraled through the entity of Big Root.

“Although I’m trying my hardest to outmatch the lot of them.”

     “ hm… “

holly chewed her lip in thought, spinning around some    to take in the grandeur of the place. she didn’t have any    kind of book in mind, nothing specific at least.

“ maybe… something about        the golden age? do you have        anything like that? “

her own memories of times before the war were… unclear    at best. nonexistent at worst. all she’d ever known was that    the moonbeams had been fighting for peace, to bring back    the golden age. but she had never experienced it properly.

“ and… do you have one with        pictures? “

"Ah, I think I may have just the thing. We will need to go deeper into Big Root for those."

Casually, paper wings giving off the faintest smell of a cherished bookstore as he flew slowly along the hallways towards the center of the living tree.

"I have made a special effort to recover old tomes from the Golden Age. I have over fifty currently in my stocks that are open to the public. Two dozen or so others are kept safely in any event that the Fearlings should try again to access them. What are you looking for in the past? History, culture, art..."

There's A Birthday At Santoff Claussen

It seemed to the being that he spent far too much time away from the place he was needed most. Protecting the books was not his only responsibility now that Ombric was missing and both Katherine and North had other duties to attend to. The children here and the creatures who called this magical place home needed his guidance. It was time to pull himself out of the books and the past and push his guilt aside.

However as he stepped once more after a near year into the sunlit clearing of a summer Santoff Claussen, Qwerty saw the last thing he had expected and a hand on his shoulder startled him as tears welled in his eyes. The Spirit smiled kindly down at him as they watched the children setting balloons in many colors and flowing banners up around tables full of food and laughter, “We take care of each other, little guardian. Your shoulders are not big enough for the weight you try to carry. Leave thoughts of duty behind on this day of all of them and go find your companions and loved ones. Come back tonight when the children are done.” Qwerty smiled broadly, “Will there be anything left of Santoff?”

With laughter behind him and his heart feeling light again, he wandered off to see who he would run into first, paper wings carrying him swiftly.

Who knows how long the silver star had been sleeping, or even waiting in the library. But here he was, his head resting casually on several books (each one about romance) like they were fluffy pillows.

No doubt he wanted a particular someone to find him– if they ever happen to return.

Oh dear, his silver star was such a funny one. Smiling brightly, the Librarian landed perched on the edge of a chair next to Sterling where he slept. With a nod to Big Root and a casual wave of one hand a blanket was draped across the shoulders of the slumbering man, a thin branch steadily reaching out to hand the bookworm a silver tray.

"Sterling..." He cooed softly, beckoning his companion towards wakefulness as he settled the tray on the table, pouring a cup of tea that still steamed in the cold of Santoff Claussen.

Omg what is wrong with me. I see really cool people I want to say hi to and write with saying that they want more people to say hi and write with them… and I still get scared.

Like my new excuse: I don’t know how to do the interesting fonts and setup that people are using now. I write all boring so they won’t want to write with me.

HEAD WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

*headdesking off in the distance*

It just keeps getting worse. *strained laughter* Now I’m questioning whether people who voluntarily followed me want me to say anything to them.

I’m so annoyed with myself that Im just going to message people to prove to myself that the world won’t end if I actually try to make friends and interact.

Oh love, don’t be scared! You are both a wonderful person and a great rper and everyone would be both honoured and lucky to have you!

*flailing* Thank you.... and I swear I'm not trying to complain in order to get attention. I always worry about making people think that. I guess I'm ranting out loud. I get so mad at myself when I know there are people who want me around but I always talk myself into believing otherwise. Gah

Thank you. I'll stop whining now xD

There's A Birthday At Santoff Claussen

“Oh it’s your birthday!?” Charles exclaimed, “Well bust my wings, happy birthday, Qwerty!” He smiled, “Oh Manny’s would be estatic if you came. HE loves guests. But knowing that it’s your birthday, he might do something extra special for you.”

“Believe me, you should rub off some of your workaholic tendencies on Manny. Sometimes he tries to skip on work to go invent and listen to wishes.”

Qwerty beamed and nodded, “I would have forgotten if it hadn’t been for the kids building what looks like an entire carnival when I got up this morning. I’ve had so many of them I don’t even know how old I am.” He laughed and rubbed his hands together, “I think wishes at least could fall under his job description. I’m ready to get started when you are.”

Charles grinned, “Follow me then! And be sure you keep up!” He carried the light-weight sack as he whisked along the wind a bit further from Santoff Claussen.

They were nearing one of the mountains where there lie a cave with a strange contraption with a code mechanism. He landed on the ground and awaited Qwerty to land. “Mind closin’ your eyes? This is a secret code.”

It had been quite some time since the scholar had needed to maintain any sort of speed but no matter how old his pages were, he still had life in him yet. His shoulders ached slightly but he kept up the pace with Charles to land near him in the maw of the mountain. Curiosity burned through him and made his hands itch to examine the device before him but with one last long look he obediently turned away. The Tsar deserved his space and security.
