The lotus, it could sleep for a thousand years and blossom without warning. Long ago, two little boys were made with this similar gene to an actual lotus. The first born, Alma karma. The second, Yu Kanda. Due to tragedy, Almas life was snuffed out by the now samurai. But much as a lotus, Alma was far from death.

Another silent day for the exorcists of the order. For the past month both Akuma and innocence were silent. No missions were handed out, so a certain samurai was for once present at the black order headquarters.

At first, the order was silent. But then, the halls were filled with echoed steps. Multiple steps which obviously belonged to adults, however, there were light steps accompanying them. The source of the steps were a circle of crows, all surrounding and escorting a chained up child who walked in the middle of the crows. His lower arms sealed so he couldn’t use them. lotuscurse

Kanda cursed as he left the Supervisor’s office after another failure. How could there be no missions - this was a /war/, after all. He’d been confined to the Order for too long now, and was constantly checking for any opportunity to leave.

The samurai paused for a moment, detecting the sound of multiple pairs of footsteps approaching from the hall just to his left. Hand automatically drifting to his side where Mugen was located (though, reasonably, his mind told him that certainly an enemy wouldn’t have gotten in undetected), he turned the corner.

A group of Crows preceded down the corridor, forming a circle around something in the middle. It was almost as if they were trying to protect something - or keep it from escaping. Nonetheless, it was quite a sight. Reflexively, his hand tightened around Mugen’s hilt.

"What the hell are you up to?"

The second the samurai general spoke, Almas eyes since they awoke him, lit up. Looking up at the crows, he made eye contact with them and slowly teared up. They… They weren’t going to let him see Yu, and he knew they’d hurt him if he made any sudden movements towards the other. So with his eyes down casted, he began weeping silently. Tears flowing down his cheeks and hitting the ground just as silently as they fell.

Silently, the front crow reached forward and forcibly moved the male. Basically shoving and slamming him against the wall.

When alma saw this, he gasped in horror and habitually called in worry. “Y-Yu!!”

Kanda grunted, half in shock and half in anger, when the head Crow shoved him aside. There was, of course, no response to his question. But the moment the other had moved, the swordsman was able to get a small glance at the elusive figure inside the circle.

It was a small child, with their head bent down. Their shoulders were shaking, and Kanda could have sworn he caught the light glinting off something tiny and translucent as it fell to the ground. The kid was… crying? For a moment, Kanda felt sick. Were the Higher Ups dragging more children into this war? Children had no place on the battlefield. They were meant to be elsewhere, safe in a loving embrace.

As he was shoved aside, though, the child reacted - and in the most unusual way, with a horrified gasp and a worried call of his name.

His name. Not ‘Kanda’, but his given name. His eyes immediately sought out the child’s, searching the other’s gaze, and was shocked by what he saw. But no, it couldn’t be.. The lead Crow, however, was quick to resume his position in front, obscuring his view. With a growl, Kanda pushed himself away from the wall and stalked towards the group angrily.

He had to see that child again. “Get out of my way!”

The child’s tiny frame trembled as he continued to cry from fear for the samurai. After that shove, the boy was suddenly being led away with the crows to God knows where. Whimpers leaving his throat, Tears rolling down his cheeks, the boy moved to step forward but suddenly..

Suddenly, the general charged them. Managing to make the last crow fall, this caught the child’s eyes. Right when he looked at the general, his gaze locked with his.

For the first time in nine years…. Alma and Yu were reunited. Standing before him, his arms were tightly sealed together and he was dressed in a white kimono. At first silent, Almas eyes slowly soften and he utter a soft sentence.

"Y-Yu…" Smiling softly while crying, his shaking legs finally gave out and he fell to his knees in relief of seeing the other. "…..o-ohayo y-yu…"

Having beaten down the last of the Crows - God, he was going to be in some serious shit later when Komui heard about this - Kanda was finally able to get a good look at the child. Silver tears streamed down his cheeks, and his arms were bound. And his face…

No. No, it couldn’t be. After nine years, he was face to face with his childhood friend, Alma Karma, again. The samurai froze, not quite believing his eyes. But.. there was no mistake. Even dressed in a white kimono, the child still looked exactly as Kanda remembered him from all those years ago.

Hesitantly, Kanda knelt in front of the now-kneeling boy, searching his face questioningly. “…A…Alma?”

Pain from the binding seal that were wrapped tightly around his arms, waved through the tiny child’s frame as the child watched the other beat the crows down one by one. Silver tears rolling down his cheeks as he watched the samurai move and kneel before him.

Of course, when the male was before him, the boy wanted more then anything to hug the other. But with his arms bound, he couldn’t. Hiccuping a bit, he spoke. “….h-hai….I-it’s me yu-Yuu…”

Kanda carefully reached out and wiped away the tears that stained Alma's cheeks. He couldn't believe this was happening - was it a dream? But even if it was, he decided, it was worth it to see his friend again. Though he did have to wonder why his mind would have imagined Alma in the current situation, if this was in fact a dream.

"What are you doing here?" He asked cautiously, examining the seal that kept Alma bound. He knew it was pointles, as he wasn't any good with seals, but didn't know what else to do. "Who did this to you?"
