He is also Palestinian. I hadn’t seen the video from this angle yet but I suspected from the one I saw that he was targeted based on how directly the cops came at him among many others. Now from this angle you can see the cop point at him directly and then they attack. Fuck STLPD fuck WUPD fuck mayor jones and fuck chancellor Martin

militarized police in armored trucks, counterterrorism, SWAT and SRG units (nyc’s strategic response group) raided the columbia campus earlier today, beat and arrested students, and broke in through the window of hinds hall. press was removed from campus, police are blocking off peoples access to surrounding apartments

as i type this hundreds of police are raiding the ccny encampment only 20 blocks away. mass arrests reported, people being taken away in buses. separate from arrests earlier today at ccny where people were pepper sprayed

Anonymous asked:

Have you seen the UN finally calling for a ceasefire?

Yes but I’m confused… this only lasts for the duration of Ramadan?? Ramadan ends in 2 weeks. The US abstaining rather than voting in favor of it is showing me it’s going to continue pussyfooting around calling for a permanent ceasefire. I don’t mean to be pessimistic, bc ik the US vetoed it the last 3 times, but this doesn’t feel like enough. Will Israel just go back to liberally killing Palestinians once Ramadan is over? And then it’s back to this UN tug of war where some countries push for a permanent ceasefire, while the US continues blocking these efforts? Idk I’m disappointed.

Avatar

idk I can’t stop thinking about how if the previous ceasefire were permanent, Hind would still be alive. So many more people would be alive. It feels anti ethical to approach this from a “this is an improvement” lens because it’s frankly just not?? If that were my uncles dying in the midst of this genocide, I wouldn’t be out here saying it’s a step in the right direction. I’d be saying it’s too little too late. Have not enough Palestinians died for the UN to be like “enough is enough” and just put an end to this

A woman reaches under a block from the apartheid wall trying to hold the hand of her mother on the other side. Many families have become segregated after the Israeli occupation regime completed the construction of the wall which runs through Palestinian lands. This is just one of thousands of cases.

it's kind of crazy climate change has occurred at such a remarkable pace that I and everyone else around my age can remember a completely different climate in our childhoods. I truly watched winter gradually disappear in my life.

here's to women being transgender childless dykes forever and ever and ever
