Oggi consiglio un k-drama, ovvero una serie televisiva coreana. È su Viki ed è in coreano sottotitolata in italiano. La trama è la seguente (la copio da qui)

Un cuoco, un uomo del XXI secolo, si ritrova nel corpo di una regina, moglie di un re coreano che, storicamente, è stato in carica dal 1849 al 1864. La storia non è proprio fedele alla Storia, gli autori si prendono delle libertà e cambiano il destino del re, ma è raccontata in maniera tale da essere avvincente e divertente (si ride parecchio), pur nella sua tragicità: il re, storicamente, è visto come un burattino nelle mani delle famiglie nobili, va da sé che ci saranno parecchie difficoltà, lotte, ribellioni e scene d'azione.

Quello che mi spinge a parlarne oggi è il fatto che sia l'8 marzo. Il cuoco si trova nel corpo di una regina, una donna nella corea del XIX secolo, che già ora le donne coreane si sognano la libertà e le sicurezze di quelle occidentali (!), figuriamoci allora.

È stato estremamente istruttivo pensare a come avrei fatto io in determinate occasioni, per poi rendermi conto che lui, ora, è una lei, e certe cose non le può fisicamente o socialmente fare, anche con la carica di regina.

Davvero, se c'è un modo per cambiare prospettiva, è questo K-drama, lo consiglio a tutti.

Voi avete strutture da consigliarmi, in convenzione o meno, a prezzi decenti, intorno all’ospedale San Donato? Considerando che siamo quasi a Natale, ci vorrebbe un miracolo, soprattutto per mio Papà.

And people keep trying to justify Israel’s existence on the basis that it is somehow a safe place for the preservation of Jewish people and their culture and not only is that an awful argument for establishing a Settler Colonist Apartheid State but it’s not even true. Like the state is politically and economically dominated by Ashkenazi Jews from Northern Europe and their descendants. While not as severely mistreated as Palestinians, there is still a significant disparity between the European and Non-European Jews in terms of income and education. Non-European Jews are still regularly subject to interpersonal bigotry (hell earlier this year there was a news story about a viral video where Ashkenazi girls in a Purim made a skit mocking the Mizrahi) and Israel government policies towards non-Ashkenazi migrants have done severe damage to their social structure and cultural traditions. Not to mention the fact that the whole reason why many Mizrahi migrated in the first place was to escape the violence caused by European Jews committing atrocities in their name, tearing communities apart as neighbours that had peacefully co-existed for centuries found themselves on opposite sides of this new ethno-religious conflict

There have even been attempts in Israeli history at the forceful assimilation or even biological reduction of non-European Jews; the kidnapping and adoption of Yemeni Jewish children in the 1950s is significant example of the former while the forced contraception of Beta Israeli (Ethiopean Jewish migrants) with the explicit intention of reducing their population’s birth rate is an example of the latter. There’s also very clear favouritism when it comes to recent converts; white Afrikaner converts are given the right of Aliyah while Nigerian Igbos are not. Like the fact of the matter is that Israel’s fundamental nature is as a European Settler Colony, incredibly racist not only towards the indigenous Palestinians but the many Non-European Jews it claims to represent. It’s an outpost of Western Imperialism, not a haven for the Jewish people. If it was ever meant to be the latter than it has failed miserably

Perché Pasolini non c'è più ma è ancora vivo.

Ho letto appoggiata ad una terra consacrata alla Resistenza, una terra scavata per le fosse comuni degli appestati, mi ha fatto da cuscino una terra dove la gente implorava i morti in riti pagani dove riporre sogni e speranze. Questa terra assomiglia così tanto alla necessità e al tormento che ci ha insegnato Pasolini e in queste pagine l'ho trovato ancora vivo, rivisitato e omaggiato, anzi: in queste pagine ho trovato un Pasolini vivo più che mai in seno all'infinito.

Pagina dopo pagina, storia dopo storia, si seguono nomi di autori e autrici di strisce che vanno a formare la rivista che non c'era e siccome si è trovata bene continua a non esserci.

Il libro lo trovate, anche, qua, mentre per i posti sperduti dovete solo guardarvi attorno che di luoghi appestati è sempre pieno il mondo (basta seguire i segni).
