At War with Myself

@only-half-living / only-half-living.tumblr.com

There is always someone or something lurking in the darkness, even if you believe you are alone. It could be an animal, another human being, or even the monsters you fear. A scrawny, petite child slowly walks out of the blackness of the night, revealing her ghostly-white skin and pale gray eye. Her face is masked in faint freckles on her nose, fading once they fan out to her cheeks. One eye is concealed by a light patch, her long, sandy-blonde hair falling down her back in knots. Her attire is made up of a large striped hoodie and a pair of shorts that reach her knees. The young girl is covered in blood, both on her clothing and bare feet. She eyes you curiously, yet there is a sparkle of hostility showing clearly in her gray orb. This is Carter Regas. Half human, half monster. [ This is an OC RP and Ask blog! “You again!” The man cried, a look of sheer anger spread across his features as he watched the petite girl in his sights tackle another to the ground, growling with hostility as she lunged for his neck. The blonde-haired girl didn’t get the chance to sink her lone fang...

Seeing a shadow from the little light the alley held, Carter tilted her head. Not many people came down this way since it was thought to be a very dangerous place to get caught in and not many people came out the same way if they returned at all. Since Carter was only 4’6’’, the blonde-haired girl had to crane her neck quite significantly to take in the appearance of the other. He had a rather eccentric look to be normal. But what really perked the child’s interest was the large fangs that extruded from the stranger’s mouth. Could he…? No, he couldn’t. It wasn’t natural for her kind to be out during the day. She struggled to make it through the day herself. Her blood boiled whenever she was out in the sun. Of course, since she wasn’t a full blood-sucker, it wasn’t fatal from a little sunlight, but it sure burned like hell. Suddenly, she wasn’t scared anymore. After the two were led deeper into the alley, Carter’s pale gray eye widened, not being able to believe what she had just seen. He was! So she wasn’t alone in this town. Of course, that didn’t fix the fact she was homeless. “H-Hey!” Carter snapped, a grimace formed on her face, crossing her arms over her chest with a pout. “I needed that guy! I’m starving! I haven’t eaten in a few days, and now he’s useless to me!” She never did get along with people well, since she always seemed to isolate herself from them.

Closed RP: Close Call [ Thalia-and-Lestat ]

“You again!” The man cried, a look of sheer anger spread across his features as he watched the petite girl in his sights tackle another to the ground, growling with hostility as she lunged for his neck. The blonde-haired girl didn’t get the chance to sink her lone fang into the vulnerable rough skin before she was snatched by the hood and pulled off the victim. She let out a small screech, kicking and punching violently trying to free herself from the strong man’s grip. Although Carter was half-human, half-creature of the night, she lacked the strength needed to fight back, especially since this was the second day with no blood to drink. Her only available eye was filled with rage and hunger as she shot an icy glare at the police officer that had caught her trying to attack once before. Even in the darkness of the alleyway, it was seen she had a noticeable bruise on her head and a gash on her cheek that was bleeding. Clearly she had taken a few hits from the man she attacked, but somehow managed to take the upper-hand. Now that there were no restraints on the victim, he scurried off, not bothering to look back at his attacker. This had happened before, yet her secret had still remained. She made sure to hide her attacks in dark alleys so her blood wasn’t boiled by the bright, hot sun and so civilians wouldn’t see her. Yet, the 9 year-old girl was most always spotted covered in blood, her feet matted with it from no protection against the rough surface of roads and rock. “This is the last time, punk!” The officer yanked on her arm, Carter giving out a yelp in pain, now dragging her along as she continued to deal punches and kicks at him. She knew that now she was in deep trouble, yet she was too weak to get away. She never asked for this kind of life, nor did she want to be even associated with the awful creatures called vampires. Even if she only was half of one, how she longed to be human. Just to escape the harsh reality.
