RE: THAT Crimes of Grindelwald cameo

***MOVIE SPOILERS AHEAD, PLEASE SKIP THIS POST IF YOU’VE NOT YET SEEN THE FILM***

During a Leta-centric flashback, a young Professor McGonagall is shown scolding Leta-who attended Hogwarts from around 1908 to 1915-for hexing a pair of students. Fans quickly realized the gaping continuity hole (McGonagall states in Order of the Phoenix, which takes place from 1995-1996, that she’d been teaching at the school for almost 39 years, which means she would have started in 1956) and have been very outspoken on social media about their disappointment. They feel the easter egg was placed in the film merely to dredge up nostalgia and it cheapens Fantastic Beasts, overall.

My question is: where do you, dear reader, stand? Do you think the cameo was a damper due to the timeline inconsistencies or just an enjoyable, if confusing, bit for fans of the Harry Potter series?

Jenna making everyone feel like they have a low IQ

Just a reminder that even though she makes silly videos on YouTube, this girl also has a masters degree from a top rate university.

read this guys, read.

Just appreciate him. If for no other reason then because he appreciated Hermione.

Victor Krum was ready to fight Xenophilus Lovegood of all people in the goddamn street because he was wearing the wizard Nazi symbol from ww2. Like no holds barred throw down.

Protect my foreign son and his goodness. Let Victor punch Nazis 2k17

Lbr the reason people hate Krum is because Harry didn’t like him and people don’t know how to not take everything an unreliable narrator says for granted

And for the moments the boys on set, with their silly crushes, became tiresome, Brown could turn to Winona Ryder. “I would just go to her like, ‘Ugh, the boys are getting on my nerves today!’ And she’d be like, ‘Got it — come sit.’ And we’d eat cheese.“

- Millie Bobby Brown for W Magazine (quote)

Rb if you wanna complain about men and eat cheese with Winona Ryder

I hope Winona is protecting her from Drake

Things to remember

Augusta Longbottom showed up to the Battle of Hogwarts, ready to kick some ass.

Sybill Trelawney killed Fenrir Greyback with a crystal ball.

Grawp joined the fight.

Ron wanted to save the Hogwarts house-elves.

“CHARGE!”

When the trio couldn’t conjure their patronuses, Luna, Seamus, and Ernie MacMillan saved them.

Dumbledore didn’t tell Harry about the Hallows because he was afraid Harry would make the same mistakes he did.

Kreacher joined the fight

The Malfoys were still there when the battle ended.

Harry used the Elder Wand to fix his own.

why the fuck is no one naming their children after greek goddesses? Name your fucking child Persephone?????? Bitch???????!?

If that makes you happy, my name is Demeter

In my experience, people named after Greek goddesses are some of the most ethereal, chaotic forces I have ever encountered. Our Art Department’s nude model, for example, is a woman named Hera. She’s stunningly beautiful, rides a motorcycle as apparently her only vehicle, grows all her own food, and keeps bees, turtles, and a dog named Argus, who she walks around town with a peacock feather attached to his leash. I am thoroughly convinced she is not of this realm.

I’m pretty sure you just met Hera.

the fear men instill in women by virtue of existing in their vicinity is something men, especially white men, need to be aware of.

You could think you’re the nicest guy in the world but a woman sees you as a threat. Because you are! You are one. You starting a conversation on the train with a woman isn’t “being friendly”. It is trapping her in an interaction she cannot leave of her own consent out of fear of retaliation. You asking where she’s headed isn’t “small talk”. It is invasive and makes her fear for her safety by being followed. Your presence forces women to consider safety before comfort or agency. Be conscious of that when you interact with women in public space.
