-Your smell might change a little bit! But my dude, it happens so gradually you probably won’t even notice it. And if you shower and wear deodorant? You’re probably not going to smell! Because you’re an adult who’s been through puberty before and can sure as shit manage another one!
-Acne IS a thing, but it depends on your genetics! Some people get a lot of acne, other people get none. Either way, washing your face twice a day and making sure it doesn’t get too dry is a good place to start!
-Testosterone injections? Pretty difficult to mess up! They’re IM injections, the best place to inject is usually the outer thigh. Trust me (someone who STILL faints when they get blood taken) when I say that a T injection is nothing but a boop. It’s a boop, that’s it, you’re done. If it does hurt? It’s a li’l pinch, at most. After you’re going to be a little sore, but it feels like a bruise at most, nothing to be scared of! Always remember to aspirate before you inject, too!
-Your attitude will change, but usually not by much! Once again! It depends on genetics! Be prepared to get irritable from time to time. But it’s nothing to fret over.
-You are going to want to eat more, but that’s normal! Your metabolism is raising, so your body is going to want more food! It’s okay to have smaller meals between meals, it’s actually good for your metabolism.
-Don’t fret if you’re not losing weight! Because you’re most likely losing the body fat and gaining it in muscle, and muscle weighs more than body fat. You’re gonna be fine, homie.
-If you start T under 21, you do have a chance to grow taller! Congrats! It literally feels like any other growing pains you had growing up!
-Sometimes you don’t stop your period immediately, sometimes you do! Everyone’s body is different! The long and the short of it is your body is going through a bunch of hormonal changes that your uterus doesn’t know how to cope with! Things can be stressful, but eventually it will pass, be strong, my dude.
-Your downstairs is going to get different, but once again! Totally normal! Your clit is going to start growing, I noticed mine after 2 weeks! I’m assuming it’s also another thing that’s different for everyone, but it’s nothing to be scared of!
-Remember that everyone’s experience on T is different! Sometimes it takes a while for things to happen, but that’s okay! Your doctor is there to make sure that you’re healthy and that your body is agreeing with your T dosage! There are gaps that need filling in here, but a lot of it all depends on your body! You’ll be fine, and in the long run? Totally worth it. Please don’t let uninformed people on the internet scare you away from pursuing a big step like this when the positives undoubtedly weigh out the negatives.
