what if we were staying at a hotel and we checked in at 4pm and wheeled all our luggage in and got lost looking for the elevator and immediately turned the thermostat to 67 degrees and opened the curtains and claimed our beds by throwing our bags on them and chilled out for a few hours before deciding what to do for dinner and stopped at a convenience store for snacks on our way back and went swimming at night and shivered in the elevator on our way back up to our room and took turns deciding who showers first with hotel soap and snacked in bed while watching silly tv shows with too many commercials and then fell asleep with the light from late night fast food and gas stations still open gently filtering through and the sound of the cars on the interstate and guests in the hallway arriving late to their rooms humming through the room and what if we woke up too early the next morning and shuffled to get whatever pair of shoes on so we could go downstairs and get our free breakfast and we made waffles and got juice and tea and coffee and came back upstairs and turned the weather channel on while we packed so we could see the forecast and we went downstairs to check out and get one last beverage for the road before setting off on our next stop. any takers …

one of the most infuriating things about becoming an adult is when you realize that it actually is 10x easier to solve problems by making a phone call vs literally any other communication method

Do you remember when tumblr was overrun by kids in grey body paint and horns speculating over how their story would end, when browser extensions would ping almost every day alerting people to a webcomic update, when the anticipation of the next plot twist had people inventing chaotic AUs and sometimes other, completely fake webcomics?

Do you want to do it again?

On April 13, 2024, I will turn on New Reader Mode in the Unofficial Homestuck Collection, and I will not turn it off again until April 13, 2031. Every day, I will post to this blog which pages were originally posted on the corresponding day 15 years ago, and read those associated pages - and if anyone else wants to experience or re-experience Homestuck in real time, I invite you to read along.
