Sorry, I have just dropped off the face of the earth (I suppose it’s nothing new)! I’m just about to start a new teaching job and I’ve just been getting everything ready and it’s taking up all of my potential sims playing time. I will hopefully be back soon with more content, although I might need to segue to more gameplay based storytelling because posing things takes me a long time! But we’ll see how things go over the next couple of weeks! :)
Sorry, I will update my queue as soon as I can, I’ve just come down with an ear infection and simming is not really high on my list of things to do as a result! Will be back soon :)
Laurel stood in the empty classroom. The sense of relief she felt now it was all over was palpable, things could go back to normal, but there was a sadness mixed in there too.
But then another feeling came to the fore. Anger. Anger at Rosie for setting Brian on her without asking and basically forcing a premature end to her her first real relationship. She had to find her.
Laurel: “So I guess this is it?”
Melody: “I think our time is up, yeah.”
Laurel: “Will this make hanging out, you know, awkward.”
Melody: “Probably, but I think we are both capable of getting over it, don’t you?”
Laurel thought about it for a minute. They would be friends again eventually, she was sure. They hadn’t been all that close to begin with.
Laurel: “Yeah, I do.”
Melody: “Good. See you around, Laurel.”
And with that, she left.
Laurel: “What? Luke? What?”
She was panicking.
Melody: “Don’t think I haven’t noticed. Don’t worry, no one else knows. But I just wish you’d look at me that way sometimes.”
Laurel: “Mel, that’s not how it is.”
She stepped forward, but Melody took a step away.
Melody: “Don’t kid yourself, Laurel. You’re in love with him.”
The reality of what Melody was saying stopped Laurel dead. She didn’t want to lie any more.
Laurel: “I’m so sorry. I really do care for you. This, us, it meant everything. But, I can’t explain it, he just does something to me. As soon as he’s around, I can’t think straight.”
Melody: “I know. I just don’t think it’s very fair to me that I’m not the person that does that for you.”
Am I a bad person for not liking Laurel. I’ve been reading your legacy for a while, and while some of your heiresses have made decisions where I’m like really? but I eventually ended up liking, I just idk Laurel bugs me. I’m willing to see if she matures more as a young adult, but gah she’s just so selfish and making bad decisions! I want to like her so bad. I keep telling myself this is just the beginning for her, but that could be a good or bad thing lol As always love your legacy!
You’re right, she is young and making very poor decisions, but, hopefully, she will get her comeuppance, because she has not treated Melody correctly at all. I hope that Laurel will grow on you too, but thank you for following my Homily heiresses and sticking with them through their poor decision making 🤣💕
Melody: “What the hell, Laurel. Don’t you want your girlfriend to take you to prom?”
Laurel: “Of course. Brian just pounced on me, I was going to turn him down.”
Melody: “Oh really, because Rosie says you fancy him.”
Laurel: “Well, she’s wrong. I made that up ages ago to get her off my back. You know how she is.”
Melody: “Yeah, you’re right, it’s not Brian. It’s Luke.”
Laurel stopped dead in her tracks, all words left her mind.
A couple of days later, Laurel closed her locker and turned around, only to find Brian standing there, waiting to speak to her.
Laurel: “God, Brian, don’t do that. Everything ok? Is this about the geography project?”
Brian: “No, I heard you were looking for a date to prom.”
Laurel: “A what?”
Brian leaned in closer, his face so close to Laurel’s that she could smell the mint on his breath.
Brian: “Would you like to go to the prom with me?”
Laurel: “Wait… I’m confused?”
Brain: “Come on, look at you. You’re beautiful, I don’t know why no one has snapped you up and asked you to prom yet.”
Laurel was about to open her mouth to respond indignantly, but before the words came out, she heard a quiet voice behind her.
Melody: “Typical.”
Laurel turned to see Melody moving swiftly back down the hallway. Pushing Brian away, she followed.
Rosie: “Has Melody asked you to prom yet?”
Laurel: “Not yet, but there’s still time, it’s not for a couple of weeks.”
Rosie: “You could always ask her, you know?”
Laurel: “I suppose you’re right. I never really thought about it.”
Rosie: “What?”
Laurel: “Nothing, doesn’t matter.”
Rosie: “Okay…?”
Rosie knew something was up. Her best friend senses were tingling. Laurel wanted someone else to ask her and she knew just who it was, if only Rosie gave him a little nudge.
Joey Holland for @itssimplesimblr‘s Bachelorette Challenge
Aspiring actor who just can’t seem to shake his bad boy reputation, although the numerous photos of him out drinking are partly to blame. The photos and this reputation are starting to detract from his art and talent in front of the cameras. This bachelorette competition is his chance for him to find love and show his more caring side (whilst ensuring he gets as much camera time as possible).
Traits: Self-Centred; romantic; perfectionist

I love the expressions they are pulling as they greet each other!
Also, this is sadly Moomin and Pippi’s final post as they both died whilst I was on another lot! RIP my cat babies <3
Jake had an adventurous time in the garden. Mending things, fleeing from bees.
This random stray cat that was in the house enjoyed a healthy amount of Caroline’s cake!
Reshade help
I’ve been thinking about trying out reshade recently, but when I last attempted to install it, it messed up my computer, so I clearly did something wrong! Is there any kind person out there who would be able to provide assistance with the installation etc? I’m just getting such envy from everyone else’s screens, and my photoshop skills are lacking so they’ll never look that good!
Caroline entering the senior years! Happy Birthday, lady!
I feel bad for Melody. I don’t think Laurel cares that much about her romantically. To me she just seemed excited at the opportunity to have sex. She’ll always care about Luke more. She should let Melody go, so Melody can find someone that actually cares about her and isn’t just using her as a distraction/to wait for the real person they want to be single.
I agree Laurel is currently being a very bad girlfriend, Melody definitely deserves better, but how long will it take her to realise that that’s the case?
Laurel (sleepily): “Thank you.”
Melody: “No, thank you. That was perfect. I love you, Laurel.”
Laurel: “Goodnight.”
Melody: “Night...”
