Repeat after me: - Veganism is not affordable - Veganism is not cruelty free - Veganism is not the best choice for everyone

Repeat after me -I’m an idiot and wrong. -Veganism can be made affordable. -Veganism is fucking cruelty free. That’s what it’s all about. - Veganism is the best choice for everyone, if everyone did it. -I’m a fucking asshole for making this completely wrong text post and should shut the hell up now.

Exploiting undocumented immigrants, and other workers is cruelty free? Nearly 500,000 children as young as six harvest 25 percent of US crops.

But I guess brown people don’t fucking matter.

People are literally starving in South America because all the Quinoa crop is being exported mainly for white vegans who want to live “cruelty-free” but don’t care about brown people as much as they do about animals.

plus, 4 of the 8 most common food allergies (soy, wheat, peanuts, and tree nuts) are common vegan substitutes.

hello i am also here with The Science™ to back up the fact veganism is NOT even the most sustainable dietary option for humanity, like not even in the ballpark of close

ya’ll… undocumented workers in slaughterhouses… the meat/dairy/poultry industries exploits brown people too… literally every industry in the world does. We live in a society where you can’t buy bananas in the grocery store without being complicit in violence. You can’t put gas in your car, or pay taxes, or buy affordable clothes without contributing to the suffering of oppressed people.

Don’t point fingers at vegans for this– you’re being deliberately obtuse to the big picture. Society is fucked up.

you don’t have to be vegan to eat quinoa, vegans aren’t the only people who eat quinoa, and they certainly aren’t single-handedly responsible for starvation in south america, like what kind of ‘logic’…

FYI, plenty of brown people/POC are vegan. I’m brown (south Indian) I support and understand veganism. Please kill the disgusting myth that you have to be a Racist White Liberal™ to give a shit about animals. It is insulting.

Please kill the myth that you have to be a Rich Person™ to be vegan.

Even when I was vegan, I never fucking touched quinoa. A lot of vegans just eat french fries, potato chips, and ramen. Or, ya know… rice and fucking vegetables, the most affordable, easy to make, healthy, all-diet-friendly combo ever…

Deforestation and livestock– animal agriculture is contributing to killing our planet in so many ways. You can google it. The water used to raise beef could go to raising crops that feed a MUCH larger number of people. That’s a fact.

Those scientists? The ‘science™’ whatever you’re talking about?

They probably love burgers. It’s like the anecdote of that alcoholic doctor who said a glass of wine a day is good for health. People will do anything to justify their choices and avoid the harsh reality. Scientists are people. People have biases. Science does not always (or even often) present objective facts. Just read a history book.

Many other scientists (the science™ jfc you people test me) claim veganism can save our planet, with plenty of proof to back it. Don’t pretend the ‘science’ you pay attention to is totally unbiased, or the only truth out there.

Look, I’m not vegan. I was for a while, and then it got to be kind of a hassle, so I eat eggs/dairy, but I do so while knowing the impact of my actions.

People want to justify putting sentient creatures through senseless cruelty to satisfy our society’s gluttony.

Would you cringe at watching a video of tofu being made? Fuck no. How bout a tour of a slaughterhouse, or dairy farm? If you are that uncomfortable at having to think about where your food comes from, you should probably think about why instead of… spouting absolute unfounded nonsense you literally pulled out of your ass at peole who made different choices than you.

If you eat meat, chances are, you are literally consuming some percentage of rat shit. You are putting rat shit in your body on a regular basis, and trying to get high and mighty on people who make a lifestyle choice founded on empathy. Like, I’m not insulting anyone or shaming people. This is an actual fact. There is rat shit in your burger…..

And for all you ignorants claiming veganism is unhealthy: I spent years of my life suffering depression, ADD, anxiety, insomnia, chronic fatigue, high cholesterol, iron deficiency, etc. After a few months of being vegan, I found it impossible to feel bad, physically or emotionally. All the shit I’d been fighting my whole life? Gone. Poof. Now, Dermatologists Hate Me, and Doctors Are Shocked.

Btw, my skin cleared right up, and it is physically impossible for me to gain weight without consciously trying to. Just sayin.

Animal products increase your risk of cancer. They are a huge reason for the American obesity epidemic, and a lot of other shit that has a huge cost for the individual, and society. Don’t tell me eating rice and vegetables has negative consequences of nearly the same scale.

Look, I respect everyone’s choices. I know how hard it is to change your diet/lifestyle for any reason. I don’t go out of my way to shame people for what they eat- never have, never will. I loved meat, and cheese, and milkshakes. They tasted really good. I’d eat that shit all the time, but something always bothered me about living in willful denial. It took me twelve years of trying to finally eliminate meat from my diet. My willpower is shit, and chicken tastes amazing.

I get it. I’m not asking you to change. I just want you to stop shaming the people who do.

Casein is addictive. I literally went into withdrawal when I quit dairy. I had intense cravings, bouts of depression, and actually cried a few times. This is not an easy or fun choice to make. Stop belittling it.

It’s funny that vegans have this shitty reputation, when everyone else is actually doing, like, the weirdest, most ill-informed shaming ever.

No one is telling you to feel guilty for your choices. No one is making you change. That’s just something you feel when you see someone else making a different choice, and trying to understand why.

(look, this isn’t an astro post, like duh, but I can’t deal with this kind of ignorance. I can’t keep quiet about it anymore. I’m tired of seeing posts like this. No one can force you to stop doing something you want to, but this irrational hatred for vegans must be eradicated.)

What baffles me is that because the industry around a thing is corrupt, it makes it corrupt Veganism is corrupt because there are workers who get paid like shit but ya’ll still buy Nike products knowing damn well it’s still made in sweat shops…. K
