I love my husband….I will not yell at him for not seasoning the ground beef….I will not yell at him for not seasoning the ground beef…I will not-

Avatar

Uh oh. Dare I ask what the unseasoned ground beef was intended to make?

Spaghetti…..it’s weird. All I can taste is the unseasoned beef.

Oh dear god no. Spaghetti needs seasoning of at least garlic and Italian herbs when the meat is browning. Your hubby gets kudos for the thought of doing the cooking at least.

Hey! Pap smear anon from yesterday here. Well I hated it 😂 I was completely fine answering her questions, undressing and positioning etc. but when it came to putting the torture device in, omg 😂 As I mentioned previously I’ve never had sex before so as you can imagine I’m quite tight down there and it hurt. We had to go twice, trying different positions (making fists and placing them under my butt to lift it worked for me) and eventually the pain did subside and only became a dull ache, but it was uncomfortable (well I suppose someone literally opening your vagina would be uncomfortable!) Obviously everyone has different experiences with this and by my next appointment in 3 years time (that’s what it is in the UK) hopefully I will have found a man and done the deed 😂 so fingers crossed it’s better then!… In all honesty though it was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be, it’s just me and my anatomy as everyone else I know breezed through them. The socks idea definitely helped as the nurse loved my sloth socks

Sorry this took me so long to answer! This week has been a doozy. I'm so glad that it wasn't horrible and sloth socks 🥺🥺🥺🥺 I want them!

Well that's strange Pap smear anon I don't know if it's different in other countries but every doctor I've seen in the public Women's Health clinics in Australia as well as my GP and an OBGYN I saw a few years back have told me that if you've never had sex you actually don't need to have Pap smears done until you are sexually active.

“this pillow works better if your a back sleeper” bitch I’m a rotisserie chicken sleeper I don’t stop turning until sleep rips me forcefully from this world

Avatar
lark-cale

I feel this statement 100%. In my youth I was a back sleeper, as a teen a side sleeper. Now though it's whatever fricken position I can find that's comfortable depending on which of my conditions has flared up. Some nights it is the rotisserie chicken all night till I eventually get comfortable around dawn and pass out for half the day.

When getting the booster (for those who have gotten it) did y’all experience some form of insomnia that night? I swear I got like, 3 hours tops last night. My sleeping schedule isn’t the best I admit, but it’s never been THAT bad for me trying to fall asleep. It was a little worrying honestly

My insomnia knows no schedule. LOL. I will have months where I sleep 1-2 hours a night and months where I will sleep 10 hours a night. It's a mystery at this point.

I know with my booster I was tired when I got home and ended up sleeping for 5 hours and when I finally went to bed again at midnight I ended up spending all night staring into the abyss and only finally getting to sleep at dawn 🤷

The Three Laws of Fandom

If you wish to take part in any fandom, you need to accept and respect these three laws.

If you aren’t able to do that, then you need to realise that your actions are making fandom unsafe for creators. That you are stifling creativity.

Like vaccination, fandom only works if everyone respects these rules. Creators need to be free to make their fanart, fanfics and all other content without fear of being harassed or concern-trolled for their creative choices, no matter whether you happen to like that content or not.

The First Law of Fandom

Don’t Like; Don’t Read (DL;DR)

It is up to you what you see online. It is not anyone else’s place to tell you what you should or should not consume in terms of content; it is not up to anyone else to police the internet so that you do not see things you do not like. At the same time, it is not up to YOU to police fandom to protect yourself or anyone else, real or hypothetical.

There are tools out there to help protect you if you have triggers or squicks. Learn to use them, and to take care of your own mental health. If you are consuming fan-made content and you find that you are disliking it - STOP.

The Second Law of Fandom

Your Kink Is Not My Kink (YKINMK)

Simply put, this means that everyone likes different things. It’s not up to you to determine what creators are allowed to create. It’s not up to you to police fandom

If you don’t like something, you can post meta about it or create contrarian content yourself, seek to convert other fans to your way of thinking.

But you have no right to say to any creator “I do not like this, therefore you should not create it. Nobody should like this. It should not exist.”

It’s not up to you to decide what other people are allowed to like or not like, to create or not to create. That’s censorship. Don’t do it.

The Third Law of Fandom

Ship And Let Ship (SALS)

Much (though not all) fandom is about shipping. There are as many possible ships as there are fans, maybe more. You may have an OTP (One True Pairing), you may have a NOTP, that pairing that makes you want to barf at the very thought of its existence.

It’s not up to you to police ships or to determine what other people are allowed to ship. Just because you find that one particular ship problematic or disgusting, does not mean that other people are not allowed to explore its possibilities in their fanworks.

You are free to create contrarian content, to write meta about why a particular ship is repulsive, to discuss it endlessly on your private blog with like-minded persons.

It is not appropriate to harass creators about their ships, it is not appropriate to demand they do not create any more fanworks about those ships, or that they create fanwork only in a manner that you deem appropriate.

These three laws add up to the following:

You are not paying for fanworks content, and you have no rights to it other than to choose to consume it, or not consume it. If you do choose to consume it, do not then attack the creator if it wasn’t to your taste. That’s the height of bad manners.

Be courteous in fandom. It makes the whole experience better for all of us.

@ozhawkauthor looky what popped up on my dash today that a friend and talented writer reblogged.

So amazing to see that writers in other fandoms are still finding these relevant.

Long period anon here again! I got an ultrasound today, a transvaginal one, and they didn't find anything of concern so yay! Next is bloodwork and birth control pills. Also, I don't know if it's just me or what but they had a screen for the patient to see and it was so interesting to see that I almost totally forgot how nervous I was. I had to refrain from asking the tech a ton of questions 🤣

Awwww you should have! Most of the time (in my experience) people love explaining parts of their jobs.

It’s great that everything looks okay! Hopefully the bloodwork comes back normal and you can be on the road to short periods!

As someone who has had period issues in the past and then 4 years ago a period that went non stop for six months it might be worth asking your doctor about Polycystic Overy Syndrome or even Endometriosis if the periods are also painful.

My issue was sorted by the insertion of a Mirena IUD that lasts 5 years and can either normalise your period or like in my case cease it entirely.

Hope you get your problem sorted though sporadic and misbehaving periods suck big time.

They don't do anything wrong and eat lice and ticks like nobody's business. We take good care of ours.

@scribbledghost I can so see Jack taking kids on a hike and finding an Opossum playing possum that he decided to make it a learning experience for the kids.

I had no idea giant porcupines made fucking precious sounds

THAT’S THE SOUND IT MAKES!?!?!?

UN-BE-FUCKING-LIEVABLE

We got asked if this is cute and okay. I can very happily say yes, this is stupid cute and those are happy porcupine noises.

One of my favorite things about doing zoo work was all the noises you never realize the animals make when they’re excited or interested in a new thing. Coatimundis squeak and snuffle, and giant porcupines make that sound.
