This is my meet and greet picture! (I swear my face doesn’t always look like that, I didn’t have a lot of time to prepare before he just snapped the picture 😑)
So I was originally going to post a video explaining my experience meeting the Jacks, but Tumblr just would not let me upload it and I was too lazy to edit it, so I’m just gonna write it all out instead.
So first of all, it was freezing ass outside. My friend and I were waiting outside for like two hours. We left school at 12:30 because the email they sent us said to be there by 3 because they were going to hand out wristbands at 3, then they were going to let us inside at 4:15, then the actual M&G was going to start at 4:30. It didn’t go down like that. Me and my friend (Morgan) got there at like 2 or 2:15 and we waited and waited and waited, and 3 o'clock came and went LONG before the guy came out to get us.
At 3:45ish, a guy came up to the line from the inside of the fence (we were on the outside) and he was like “If you have meet and greet, come with me and we’ll get your wristbands. If you do not have meet and greet, I will send you to the back of this line and that’s gonna suck.” So we went with him and then we had to wait in another line where they explained the rules, then a girl went down the long ass line checking off names and giving out wristbands. (Also, while we were in line, we saw the Jacks come out of their tour bus to go inside, and everybody screamed including me ngl.)
So finally, we went inside at like 4:30. I started to get feeling back in my toes. I thought it was funny that as soon as we were inside everyone started fixing up their hair and checking themselves in mirrors and stuff 😂 I totally get it I mean I did it too, I just thought it was funny. But anyway, the way the whole thing was set up was like their banner was diagonal and facing away from the line. Idk if that makes sense but like the back of the banner was facing us, and we couldn’t see the Jacks. Well, G peaked out a few times (he was on the left from the photographer’s P.O.V. so he was closest to the line) but we couldn’t see Johnson 😕
So we got closer and closer and I started freaking out more and more 😂 There was this little half wall thing to the left of the line behind the banner, and we put our stuff there when we got close enough. There was a guy at the very front of the line who was like security I guess, and he was really cool. I was saying to Morgan “I don’t know if I can do this holy crap” and the guy was like “You’ll do fine, you got this.”
So now for the part you really came to hear about. Finally, amiright, like get to the point betch. I went before Morgan. So I went around and I hugged G first cause he was closest, and he said "Hi! What’s your name?” in a really sweet, adorable voice. And I feel like I was hardly audible, but I told him my name, then if I’m being honest I was kinda like yeah ok whatever, JOHNSON! 😂
Then I hugged Johnson and he asked what my name was, then he repeated it back to me and it made me weak oh my god guys. Then he pointed to the floor and said “Can you stand on that X for me, sweetie?” And like I didn’t even know there was an X y'all, I looked down and I said “Wait what? Oh!” And so I kinda giggled at myself and I stood on the X, then J said “Is there a certain pose you wanna do?” And the girl who gave us our wristbands told us if we had a pose we wanted to do to set it as our phone background so we could just show them ya know.
I said “I wanna do one like this but where you’re using the arm that’s like behind me.” And Johnson went “Oh, so I’m not cover your face.” And I laughed and said yeah. Then I handed my phone to a security guy, and I turned to J to like get ready for the pose and he said “You ready?” And on the inside I was like NO OH MY GOD NO I’M NOT READY, MY HEART CAN’T TAKE THIS. But I was like “Yeah!” in a happy, sweet girl voice 😂
So then I swear as soon as I hugged J, the photographer took the picture. Like I thought there’d but a bit of dead time so if be able to adjust and get my face ready, but nope, I hugged J and I guess he and G were already good to go, so the guy snapped the picture. And I was so worried that I blinked, cause I swear I thought I did 😂 I was like if my eyes are closed I am going to shoot somebody.
As I got my phone and a VIP lanyard from the security guy and started to walk away, Johnson said “I love you!” Guys. GUYS. Oh my god, like I was so freaking nervous that I almost forgot to say it back 😂 So I went around the other side of the banner, and I picked up my stuff and waited for Morgan. She just did a regular pose, so hers didn’t take quite as long (even though mine only took like 30 seconds 😒) Then after she came around and got her stuff, we went inside the stage room. Which was very small btw. We waited for a little bit, then we saw the little room where they were selling merch, and I got my phone case and Morgan got a case and a shirt.
After a little bit, maybe like 10 minutes, I went to the bathroom that was like right outside the stage room. (Tmi sorry) And the door to the bathroom was in the little hall where the M&G was and it was right next to the doorway to the stage room. So I came out of the bathroom AND I SAW THE JACKS STANDING THERE WHERE THE BANNER WAS. Just standing there. Talking to a security guard. I was kinda walking out of there fast cause I wanted to get back to Morgan, so I hardly even noticed that it was them at first. (But Johnson’s bright ass yellow hat made me realize it was them.) But here’s the thing: THEY. LOOKED. RIGHT. FUCKING. AT ME. RIGHT at me! WHY THE FUCK DIDN’T I WAVE GUYS??? GAH! UGH! I wish I’d realized in time!
I kinda played it cool though, like in the back of my mind I realized it was them as I was walking, so I kinda smiled at them but I just kept walking. Then it really hit me literally as soon as I crossed the threshold into the stage room and I ran back to Morgan 😂 I was like “They’re out there, dude, they looked right at me!” Then the other girls saw them through these little Windows that were separating the stage room from the hall type thing where the M&G was and they all screamed for a second, and I was just like “Whatever bitch, I saw them before you did.”
So yeah as far as meeting them goes, that’s pretty much it. I had a ton of fun, and I met a few really cool people. 😊 Sorry this was so long, but if you actually stuck it out and read it all, thank you and much love! 💖
This is the first time y'all are seeing my face! *screams* Is it just me or is this kind of a big deal? I’m pretty hype about it, honestly. I hope you guys are too! Sorry that I’m probably less than what you expected 😬
