It’s pretty obvious why Piper is queen of Hearts and Hazel queen of Diamonds, while I was confused where to put Reyna and Annabeth I learned that the queen of Spades is also knows as Pallas who is another name for the Athena and the queen of Clubs is the queen Argine, an anagram of Regina latin of queen, Reyna means queen in spanish.

A little tip for parents with children in school (or for children in school to show their parents)

My mom gave me and my sister two days every semester that she called “mental health days.”

Those were days, that for ANY reason, and without having to tell my mom the reason, we could skip the day of school. We’d just tell her we were taking a mental health day and she’d call the school and let them know we were not coming in. 

#1 This helped keep our grades up by lowering our stress levels. I never got a C in any grade school class. The majority of my classes I received A’s. I also took 4 AP classes and they were not weighted. Trust me, it made a difference.

#2 I never felt the need to skip school. I knew if I ever wanted to or needed to my mom would help me. 

Your kids are young and need time to recover. They need some days where they can do nothing but stay in bed for no reason. They need their own space where their privacy is respected. It will make a huge difference.

I would like to add something to this for the teachers too! (I may have already told this story on tumblr but OH WELL I’m telling it again)

One of my math teachers in high school had a policy called The Red Beanbags of Don’t Bother Me. He kept a pile of red beanbags on his desk, and at any time of the day you could go over and take one. From that point on, as long as you were in his classroom with a beanbag on your desk, no one could bother you. He wouldn’t call on you to answer problems, no students were allowed to talk to you, and perhaps most importantly, no one could ask why you took a bean bag that day. The only caveat was that if you used the beanbag more than three times in a semester you had to go talk to the school counselor about it.

I only used the beanbag a handful of times during those 4 years, but it was a godsend when I needed it. I knew people who would camp in his classroom during lunch (or even skip class and stay there all day) under the protection of the beanbag. As a teacher there’s not always a lot you can do for a student suffering mental illness/emotional abuse/ other struggles, but giving them some space and privacy in your class can make a HUGE difference.

Posts like this can save lives.

I can’t stop thinking about Piper and Jason taking in and looking after weak and abandoned wolf puppies??

  • Like, it starts when they’re hiking in the woods together, and Jason hears the sound of the tiny little wolfs cries from deep beyond the tree line. They find it quickly. Jason wraps it up in his coat, looks around for its mother, and realises that it’s been abandoned.
  • Piper’s dubious at first, but he insists on taking it home – at least until it’s a little bit older and more capable of surviving on its own.
  • They take it home, and they feed it and clean it up. Piper enjoys brushing its fur, and is the first to notice the lightening shaped mark behind his ear.
  • Yes, at this point Piper has already decided its a he, despite neither of them wanting to check.
  • “I don’t want to check.” “Well I’m not going to.” “Piper, please.” “You brought the damn thing home, you do it.”
  • She shows Jason the mark, “Hey look Sparky, he’s like you.” “I do not have a lightening shaped scar.” “But you have the power within you.” “Shut up, beauty queen.” 
  • You can bet she calls him Zeus. (Or something else amusing in order to spite the lord of the sky).
  • She reminds Jason frequently, although more and more halfheartedly as time goes by, that the puppy will eventually have to leave.
  • And, weeks later, after extensively caring for the puppy, and Piper fawning over him constantly, it’s finally time for him to leave.
  • Jason watches Piper from the doorway of their bedroom as she cuddles (the now considerably larger) Zeus goodbye on their bed.
  • He smiles and can’t help feeling smug, “You know… he could stay.”
  • Piper is stubborn. She keeps her eyes on Zeus as she responds, stroking the lightening mark behind his ear, “Well, if that’s what you would want.”
  • He joins her on the bed, “Of course it is.”
  • IDK, but I think what I’m saying is: Piper and Jason with a wolf puppy as a substitute for a child???
Bonus:
  • It becomes a thing for Zeus to find and bring them other abandoned wolf puppies whilst walking him in the woods.
  • It’s an accident, but Zeus’ senses pick up on the cries for help better than Piper and Jason can, and that often ends in Zeus randomly running off into the woods.
  • Zeus: *disappears into the trees*
  • Jason: *sighs*
  • Piper: *sighs* Your turn.
  • Jason: *disappears after Zeus*
  • They look after each of these wolf puppies, like they did with Zeus, and, unlike Zeus, they release them back into the wild once they are strong enough, and well enough to fend for themselves.
  • Maybe Lupa learns of what Jason is doing, and all of a sudden, wolves are bringing their weak wolf puppies directly to him? So he ends up with this wolf sanctuary of sorts?
  • And they have to move into a bigger house with more land to accommodate to the wolves needs?
Extra Bonus:
  • Zeus eventually having to leave them, and some cliche scene where Piper has to tell him to go, and, after he runs into the woods, a howl pierces the night.
  • (Maybe he has to go because he bit someone or something? Maybe he bit Piper, or he bit a villainous camper who provoked him/attacked him first?)
