literally that is what the post is about, I am saying people should be less eager to jump on any change to be snarky and rude to total strangers on the internet

The fact that people think it's a "straight line", that is, you setting up a desired response, rather than a genuine statement of frustration, really really underlines the point you're making here.

This reply sums up my feelings about this post pretty well. I'm genuinely stunned that the statement "We are not friends. This is not fun or cute, we are not sharing a charming joke together. You are just being an asshole" is radical somehow

i think people are just afraid of accepting the fact that they, too, are sometimes assholes.
