Hoodoo is an African-American folk practice that was made by SLAVES to preserve their West African traditions and culture AND to protect themselves against their white slave masters/white people in general. (Because back then -and even now- we needed the protection)

When you practice Hoodoo you are working with the spirits of African and Black ancestors and it is WRONG to invade a closed culture. As I see more and more videos everyday of my black sisters and brothers being murdered on the streets I cannot help but feel hurt and saddened by the fact that while we are actively being killed white people are STILL appropriating Hoodoo and invading a CLOSED cultural practice for clout and coin. Not today. Hoodoo is closed! This means that unless you are of African decent (grandparents/parents are black) you CANNOT practice Hoodoo. It’s like wearing a bindi if you aren’t Indian or wearing a Native American headdress or smudging if you aren’t Native it is WRONG and it leads to people like hoodoodelish who makes rape spells and instruct people to bath in gunpowder!

If you do not come from and understand a culture there is absolutely 100% NO REASON FOR YOU TO TRY AND APPROPRIATE SAID CULTURE!

I hate to be that person, but like I side with Canada Post Workers, they have every right to be demanding these things… The only issue is, they are making life harder on many people who RELY on Canada Post for their bills, checks, medical, and whatever else. Not only that, it’s very close to Christmas and people order things off the internet, or their mailing things to family and what not for the holidays. 

AND THE CHILDREN… They write letters to Santa, and they might just get them at a really stupid time, like after Christmas, or even January. Maybe never even getting them. That’s a bit of a bummer. 

Canada Post workers have been demanding a new contract for over a year. This strike didn’t just happen last month. Its been building up since well before last year.

This is on Canada Post. They caused this strike to happen by sitting on their assess and doing nothing for the past 10+ months. If they wanted this strike to have been avoided they could have agreed to CUPW’s very reasonable demands at the beginning of 2018, not at the end of it.

Some things are more important than mail and gifts. People’s lives and livelihoods are at stake here. One of the main thing postal workers are striking for is improved safety, because this job is incredibly dangerous as well as pay-equity for mostly female rural workers.

Strikes are supposed to be inconvenient lmao. They’re supposed to be unpleasant. They’re reminding you that these people are providing an essential service and deserve to be compensated fairly and have their demands heard.

By my count if the districts weren’t gerrymandered in Texas, there should be 17 Democrats to 19 Republicans.

But hey, earning nearly half the vote but only getting 1/3rd of the seats is 100% a fair system, no shenanigans here.
