I’ve just discovered womankingwinter has never eaten tacos and I have a new goal in life.

Ma’am. I’ve eaten English food and I can say that this statement can be contested. nothing beats legit Italian food. Czech is pretty good too. Austria’s desserts are divine. And real Brazilian food is pretty damned good too. Hey look at me talking about food without having any real food the entire day yay!

Image

I’m British and I have to defend my tea even if I don’t understand half of it myself and some names are rather suggestive

THE FACT STILL REMAINS NEITHER OF YOU HAVE HAD TACOS, THO!!!

What is your obsession with Tacos, woman?! You didn’t even know what a chippy was!

“Do you remember that time where your mother blamed you kids for breaking the coffee table? Yeah… I was the one that bust it.”

“I do eat good things, you and mommy make me eat everything that’s on my plate and that’s good things,” Winter reminded with a wrinkle of her nose. They were only little, they weren’t as aware of the importance of healthy eating as their father was. They liked to indulge themselves in things that tasted sweet. Winter continued to fiddle with his hand for a moment, noticing how her palm was much softer compared to the rough, much larger one of Bigby. Winter let out a sigh at his question. “I think I left him in the kitchen…or I lost him. He’s here somewhere,” Winter mumbled, finally looking back up at him. “Can we go out to the mundies again? I liked that.”

He smiled, feeling a little pleased that the little runt had listened to both of them, he only wanted what was best for them. They may not see it right now, but they would do in time, which would explain why they were confused on the matter about sweeter confectioneries. “You should go and get them, before your siblings find him first.” He knew the others could tease her, he had seen it already. Darien was the main culprit behind it. Bigby understood more than anyone how it felt to be the runt of the pack. Her fingers were so delicate, feeling the roughness of his calloused skin against her own, he must have appeared so big and powerful to her. “Mundies? Where exactly did you have in mind? You know you’ve gotta stay in your human forms, no flying either.”

No matter if she had her own opinions about a certain topic or what her parents were teaching her, she would always listen to their words. From what she had learned from her early childhood, they only did what they thought was best for them. Even if Winter didn’t understand it now, she knew that is was the best decision for them. “I was going to go and get him....Before Dare or someone takes him and hides him again,” She couldn’t help but sigh, knowing that her siblings weren’t the most understanding at times with her little habits of support. “Anywhere in the mundies, I just like going there. No flying or wolves, I know. I just like to see them.”

Of course, even then Winter knew that hurting them was the last thing that her father would ever intend, even after all the stories that they had heard on the farm, the cubs knew that he wasn’t a bad man. He was their father, a strong figure they could always turn to. Even as they grew, Winter had no doubt in her mind that her thoughts would not differ, no matter the trials that they had yet to face. “Mommy eats lots of sweets and she never spoils her dinner,” Winter reminded him casually, reaching out in order to play with his hand as she’d forgone a stuffed animal that day, having left it in the kitchen after breakfast.

“The difference is that mom knows when enough is enough.” attempting to justify his wife’s indulgences, it wasn’t exactly like he could stop her from doing it. “I think you need good things for all you kids to grow big and strong. That’s not gonna happen if you’re eating candies now, is it?” His stance on the amount of candies wouldn’t change, they didn’t need their mother’s bad habits. “Where is your little stuff animal?” he changed the topic, noticing how she wasn’t carrying her usual toy around that she would hold so dearly to her small frame.  “And where do you cubs want to go out for the day? I’m still holding that part of the bargain, we can negotiate candies later with your mother.”

Winter is now off of Semi-hiatus. All exams are over and all I have left until September is work and a holiday. I am free from that place.

Winter smiled at him happily, no longer annoyed at the fact her father had gotten them in trouble as at this age, she wasn’t one that would be holding grudges for any reason. Especially not with her father, she loved him too much. “But we still get sweets, right? Because you weren’t being fair,” Winter reminded him. “We won’t spoilt dinner,” She promised.

Seeing his daughter lighten up by the conversation helped elevate his own mood, simply because the last thing he wanted was to see the trust from his children hurt by his foolish and also selfish decisions. The wolf adored all his cubs unconditionally, they were one of the key reasons as to why he kept battling in this cruel world.  None of them were like all the other fables who would criticise him, or disrespect him. That could change during their teen years, rebellion was common around that phase. “Alright,” Winter held a point, but still unsure it gave an excuse for more sweets. “But you won’t be having too many before dinner, your mother wouldn’t be pleased if you did.”

“He was my first ‘husband’.” Snow spat the word like it was disgusting to her. “And he murdered my current husband who was trying to save me because I asked your brother to find him.” Simply put, it was Snow’s fault Bigby was gone. And thus, her right to avenge his death. “Then stop talking nonsense. If you’d like you can help me hunt Branish down, then be my guest. But I’m adamant about this, dear. When he dies, it will be by my blade.”

Image

“And he killed my father,” Winter reminded her coolly. The father that I should have watched over. He wouldn’t have been changed if I had kept my eye on him. Bigby should have come first. “You have your reasons and I have mine. But, I will make no promises. If I find Brandish first, I will not wait for you. Not whilst I can take care of business.”

“Then ease up on the alcohol or whatever is making you so needlessly hostile.” Snow gave her daughter a look. “In any case, Brandish was my problem from the beginning. If anyone is putting his head on a stick, it’s going to be me.”

“And now he’s involved himself with my family, that makes him my problem as well.” Winter reminded her mother, though she paused at the earlier remark. “Alcohol? I haven’t been drinking,” She frowned.
