Tom Constantine, senior editor of TokuNet and Kamen Rider fan/editor/podcaster Igadevil (real name Paul Sullivan) make a quick cameo in Zi-O episode 3!

I regrettably don’t own that amazing shirt, but at least I can say I have now worn something out of the Toei costume department.

You know what? This is is still pretty freakin’ great. I love the shiny new version in Rider Taisen with Old Man Jin, but there’s just something intrinsically cool about the original version. It’s weird, it’s imaginative, and somebody’s creative heart triumphed over budgetary restrictions to make it happen. That’s a big chunk of what I love about Kamen Rider compacted into a couple seconds.

Inspired by a conversation I had with Vangelus earlier, I put together a guide for the classic Kamen Rider SHFiguarts bike releases. Obviously, a work in progress, I will update it as we get the rest of them (concentrating on 1971~1984 for now).

I like how the Riderman’s one might as well be just called “Yuki’s bike”.

Interestingly, in one of the SD Rider comics, they called his bike “Monsoon" which is cool.

“Rider Machine” has become such a commonplace catch-all for the Riders’ bikes though that I can’t dislike the one that’s the ultimate play on that.

……It just occurred to me that Ghost’s design could have been based on fireflies.

I mean, it’d even explain why he glows in the dark…

In Japanese folklore fireflies also represent the souls of dead warriors (link), so that seems to line up with Ghost himself
