Daniel deals poorly with Mr. Miyagi’s death and ends up in prison on a twenty-month sentence. If that weren’t bad enough, his cellmate turns out to be the asshole he crane-kicked in the face twenty-eight years ago.
“johnny lawrence was so cute in the movie” he’s so cute now and on the show too idgaf i’ll say it i think that old man is hot
this video has been going around for a while but the English subtitles didn't match the energy of the spoken French at all. i had to fix it.

Still the best gaming fact.

3 and 17 for thr Fic Writer Asks? 👁️👁️
yay thanks for sending this! :D
3. Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic
I start with an untidy mess of bullet points, brainstormed bits that I'd like to be part of the story. then I write out my beat note draft, covering the basics of the plot and emotional development and etc etc through to the end. then I use the outline as a consulting document as I write, expanding as needed. when the whole thing is written, I divide the story into chapters and edit one chapter per week, as I upload.
17. What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block)
Walking outside helps. Get a load of that low CO2 ppm. I might take a night off, or devote the usual writing time to brainstorming instead of writing. I don't get writers' block much, though, knock on wood. I agree with the idea that you can't rely on motivation to write. motivation is nice, but discipline is what gets stuff written. 1 hr per day. I set a timer.
thanks again <3
7, 11 and 16 for the ask game?
ooooooh now we get into my weakness for listing favourites. thanks for this!
7. How do you choose which POV to write from?
I've never really had to think about it, there's always been an obvious choice. I think it tends to be someone whose head I find the most accessible to enter, especially in terms of how that character uses language. also if there's a romance I'm more likely to write from the perspective of the person whose path to falling in love is more interesting to me.
11. Link your three favorite fics right now
Oh nooo it's my inability to take a question about favourites as anything less than completely literal, my old nemesis. Not sure if "right now" means like "fics I've read lately" but I took it to mean "all-time fics that are your favourites right now".
I feel like a hack because these are all highly kudos'd (and the FFN equivalent of that) fics in their respective fandoms, so I'm not bringing any hidden gems to light. Also apparently I am a longfic girlie, who prefers genfics from kid/family shows about messed up parent-child dynamics.
Salvage by MuffinLance [A:tLA]
Shadow of a Doubt by HaiJu [Danny Phantom]
And like the cycle of the year, we begin again by katherynefromphilly [Merlin]
16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?
Just one! Sort of. A two-part series, with distinct enough core plots that it's almost like two fics, but the second's concept spoils how the first one ends, so. I'm a little shy about giving the premise to my current WIP away at this stage but how about my current draft for the fic summary:
"Daniel loses a firm hold on 2018. When he returns to the present, things aren't where he left them. Namely, Johnny."
thanks for sending this! it was fun <3
21,22
thanks so much for sending this, you're lovely <3
21. Would you ever collaborate with another writer for a story?
I wouldn't shoot the idea down without mulling it over, but tbh I would find collaboration very challenging. I was the kid in class who wasn't good at group projects because they'd just do everything themselves. I just. I write in part because I don't trust others to do it the way I like it done lmao
22. Are there certain types of writing you won’t do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc)
Oh, lots. First person. Kinks I'm not into personally (e.g. a/b/o, anything scatological, feet stuff, etc). Pure fluff/slice of life. I don't like a sad ending. Anything under like 2.5k words -- I love people who can do that but it's not where my talent is. Lots.
thanks again! :D
75. What scene in The Recidivists took the longest to write? What was difficult about it?
Thank you!
eeee I love that you made it specific to The Recidivists, thank you anon <3
Aaand now I'm going to be vague and categorically NON-specific about my answer -- anything with Daniel and Johnny always took longer than anything that had only Daniel in it (or, very rarely, did not have Daniel in it). Just because it was so much more important to get it right, so I agonized over every word.
There's an upcoming sequence in ch25 that was a more specific example. It was hard because it's a sequence meant to cover a longer period of time (if you're reading The Recidivists you could probably guess what that period of time is), and I just find discrete scenes easier to write than a description of what happened over a larger time span.
thanks so much for asking! <3
for the get to know your fic writer questions: 10, 20, 30!
ooh yay these are awesome, thanks!
10. Cltr+f “blinks” on your WIP & copy paste the first sentence/paragraph that comes up.
I wasn't sure there would be anything -- and technically, there isn't, since I don't write in present tense -- because funnily enough I've been making a deliberate effort to stop using "[X character] blinked" as an expression of mild surprise. Anyway:
There, indeed, was the bus. Daniel blinked at it. He hadn’t seen a paint job like that on a bus in years. No, decades. Man, the city must really be skimping on the public transit budget if they were still keeping models that old on the roads. Maybe it was some sort of anniversary edition or something.
20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?
Ha, I made a comment in an A/N about this the other day.
"Stephen King loves writing sleepy towns in Maine and alcoholic writers, I love giving characters brain damage and references to popular children’s song “The Cat Came Back”. To each their own."
30. Do you share rough drafts or do you wait until it’s all polished?
Unless posting excerpts like I did for question 10 counts, no, I don't share rough drafts. Shit's nasty, I'm not letting anyone see that.
thanks again! these are so fun :D
Ask game: 2 and 18, please?
thanks so much for asking, yay :D
2. Do you plan each chapter ahead or write as you go?
I'm very much a planner! I outline pretty thoroughly, and I'll go back to my outline and expand it if the outline for the next few scenes doesn't have enough detail. and then I write the whole thing and upload as I edit.
18. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?
Mostly during. Fics tend to go through a few titles before I start posting, as I get to know the story as I'm writing it. it's gonna sound obnoxious, but I like to try to get to the root of a central idea (tonight's theme is themes: what good are they?) and to refer to it or phrase it in such a way that is unique and hopefully makes you think about it in a bendy sort of way. I like a title that only hits you as being wildly appropriate in an unexpected way when you're a fair chunk into the thing.
again, thanks for sending this! <3
I'm at a photoshoot this afternoon to get some photos for my business website and ngl I think I need to switch to contacts, most people look hotter with glasses but I think I look hotter without

i dont think fandom people who only think about male characters and only create content for male characters are like horrible misogynists but i do think they often have some shit they need to unpack. like how can you , for example, play life is strange and the only thing you come away with from that is you want nathan and warren to fuck nasty. how can you watch birds of prey, and the only thing you come away with from that is you want roman and victor to fuck nasty......... like idk! idk! i just find it strange especially when people will engage with media Specifically about women and then put no effort in to empathize or care about them, sometimes even going far enough to say they HATE the female characters and that theyre bitches... IDK!!!!
i’m online and ready to look at a picture!
one of the most infuriating things about becoming an adult is when you realize that it actually is 10x easier to solve problems by making a phone call vs literally any other communication method
this show sure loved its blue and green filters may it rest in peace
