i really hate coming out but still want my extended family to know, so my mother took it upon herself to invent the game “guess which one of my kids is gay.”

the rules are simple.

  • sit down with uncle so-and-so
  • he says something about gay people in passing
  • my mom says “there’s a gay person at this table right now. guess which of my kids it is!
  • he looks frantically between the three of us trying to figure out if she’s joking or not and trying desperately not to offend anyone but also she won’t continue with the conversation unless he makes a guess so he has to make a guess
  • we all enjoy his discomfort immensely

This isnt coming out of the closet. This is coughing loudly from within the closet to scare the people outside of it, which is immensely more entertaining.

I think the only person I've met in real life with 100% career satisfaction was this gal I knew who was a presenter at a children's science museum and delivered every line like she was running a WWE match. Every time you passed the room where she was giving a presentation, you'd hear something like "WHO'S READY FOR CEPHALOPODS?!?" and the kids would go absolutely nuts cheering.

Me: I don’t like Jason Carver because is one meltdown away from being a Christian, Pastors son, KKK poster boy if he so chooses.

Also me: I think he should have super gay thoughts about Eddie and hate himself for it. I want him to suffer with the knowledge that he will never have him and hates that he thinks the freak is attractive. I want to tear that boy apart over his careening sexuality and catholic guilt until he is a sobbing mess at an altar begging to be cleansed. The pastor son likes men and he is distraught over the knowledge, shoving it deeeeeep down…

Until his girlfriend leaves him for that exact fucking guy who’s been taunting him in his head for months 😈

apparently at some point when my now-girlfriend and i were flirting with each other but not quite in a relationship, she asked me how i felt about pet names, to which i replied “well you have to call them something”

the fact that i have managed to end up in a relationship is really testament to my girlfriend’s patience

please don’t call my girlfriend a moron :(

if watching sports counts as enjoying the sport, then watching video games counts as enjoying video games.

And literally a huge part of gaming has ALWAYS been the experience of sitting around together, watching one person in the group play while everyone else cheers, heckles, shrieks, and generally has a good time.

but the fact that robin and nancy's first dates are literally the library, a mental hospital, and a haunted house... iconic gay behavior

one thing i never get tired of in songs is when they include some sounds from the recording booth like a laugh at the end, a ‘was that good?’ or like, the sounds of the guitar being put down, a chair creaking. it’s nice how music can be used as an escape but also something that ties you right back down to earth. it will affect you so deeply & then ur like wow… you just played that. it’s grounding & magical & just one of my fave things ever!

What’s the comic sans trick?

In late high school I started writing all my draft essays in comic sans and it SERIOUSLY DOES HELP. My guess is it's somehow related to the fact that it's a dyslexia friendly font, or it's just Changing How You're Looking At It. Also, sometimes writers block(whether that be for fiction or for academic writing) is just Anxiety(it won't be good enough, you'll get a bad grade, etc) and it's really hard to feel nervous when looking at comic sans. But yes, my friends hate beta-ing my wips bc they're always in comic sans.
