#30DaySWChallenge: Day One Prompt - Bounty Hunter

“I can pay more.”

Cad Bane looked at the human woman sitting across from him. “That’s not really how this works.”

“I've done it before,” she replied calmly. 

“It isn’t how it works in this case. The people who want you dead aren’t the type to take kindly to me not finishing my job. And I have a reputation to think of.”

“At the risk of sounding arrogant, you do know I am Senator, don't you?"

Bane tipped his hat in acknowledgment. “And a fine one, I reckon. But still…”

“Your reputation.”

“My reputation.” He looked at her for a moment. “I can make it painless.”

She smiled slightly, “I can’t.”

Bane frowned in confusion “What do you--” then his body jolted and he slid jerkily to the floor. 

Mon Mothma stood, slipped the stun blaster into her pocket and made her way out of cantina.

She wasn’t generally a violent person, but frankly, after calling her “little lady” he was lucky all she’d done was stun him.
