So to cut the slight bitterness of MP getting nerfed again... Looks like Eve is finally getting a webtoon.

I don’t want to be the lemon juice in the eyes of anyone, but there’s no reason to cry over Void shutting down. Probably a lot of people had friends there and they have no means to contact them outside of the game and that’s sad. People lost their time and efforts over a game to have fun and with no reason or prior information the server went off, that’s unfair and upsetting. But also remember that people who, circumventing the laws, mantain a big private servers for years, get a lot of money out of it. If you don’t know anything about this i can only say that there’s been a lot of discourse over this kind of profits back when Mt2 retroservers were a big thing and while it’s not easy now to find anything about this, you can probably look on some obscure mmo forum during the 2008-2010 period and find threads. Of course this is not something anyone can confirm and it’s just a thought from previous experiences, but everybody knows that “donations” are called like that because it’s pretty illegal to get money out off this kind of stuff and therefore this money cannot be properly taxed. Don’t forget that at the very beginning they stole art and used it on cash shop items. That hacks/cheats (whatever you want to call it) that works on official servers has been created and tested on void because of the lack of actual protections and skills from the people who kept up the server till now. I won’t go too specific on how the staff was incompetent about game mechanics because it’s been a lot of time since i’ve interacted with a member of the staff and i’m sure that actual good and interested people were at work too. And, as last sip of tea, they opened the server while another private server was WIP, taking shortcuts just to open while the interest was high in order to lure players in a server that was basically the same as NA with maybe 2/3 added items, and that’s something that anyone who played during the first weeks of the server can remember. You can be upset about the ways KoG works and that’s fair, if you don’t want to support them it’s ok. But at the same time you can consider that, if you were able to agree on playing on a flawed retroserver of a flawed game, maybe you can play on the flawed game itself. My only advice (if you’re interested in go back playing on an official server ofc) is to check the differences between NA/EU servers and find the one that suit you the best. The differences are many and just checking for them would probably help you a lot. F

@passivefan  again, can’t reply from sideblogs, ty tumblr. The reason why the shutted down is very simple: (in this case) GF made them, because they have every legal right to do so. GF is not new to make private servers of different games they publish shut down all at once and it happened this time too

Honestly a perfectly fine take, the server had its novelty during the pay to play stoneage that was early elsword. But that wore off super quickly especially after it was apparent that its all about money. Sucks for the people that wasted their time there, but honestly going into eu forums and threatening kog to ddos, because they rightfully took down a server that was stealing serverfiles from a korean testserver, is really not the hottest of takes ngl. Good riddance void. Lets hope the nice people manage to migrate.

That post is absolute gold. “We’re not stupid” said the person who also said “It's because you failed to put in the effort to reduce brainless grind“, clearly not knowing that GF is simply publishing the game in Europe and has NO RIGHT to change anything about the game. They can’t even bugfix their own version of the game, everything has to be reported to KoG, let alone changing game mechanics. They probably don’t even know the efforts european staff made to give us differents rewards for % rankings (like old raids) when the players were very few in order to give everyone a fair chance or the absolute shitshow they had to make to get Korean voices when KoG refused for years.
