Fuyuhiko wants to get something high up, and Peko (secretly) lends a hand. Bonus if someone was taunting him to get it.

Out of Reach Kuzupeko

There will always be things that are just out of reach for Fuyuhiko.

Literally. 

Whether it were the books on the top shelf, the food packed in the cupboards, or even just the upper edge of the chalkboard, these were just a few of those in the list that Fuyuhiko couldn’t reach. This was obviously because of his height or lack thereof. But anyone who even dared to point that out either got seriously hospitalized or suspiciously debt-ridden all of a sudden. Sometimes both. 

But even if no one pointed it out, it still didn’t change the fact.

It wasn’t just annoying, it was downright frustrating. No matter the amount of power the Kuzuryuu clan had, it was worthless to his dilemma. He couldn’t translate that formidable power into towering height. And like hell he would ever ask someone for help. Then again, he didn’t have to most of the time.

Whenever he tried to reach for anything that he knew was out of reach, somehow it would end up miraculously in his favor. This wasn’t the work of coincidence.

This was Peko working hard.

That book he needed that fell? It was tipped over by her. That snack at the front of the cupboard? It was previously moved from the furthest corner by her. That upper edge of the chalkboard? It was always used by someone else upon a properly placed glare from her.

When she wasn’t too busy protecting him, she was always looking after him.

“Hey, Peko?” He called out to her one day.

“Yes, young master?” She readily answered by his side.

He looked like he wanted to say something but changed his mind at the last second since he let out a sigh instead. “Nothing. Just forget I asked.”

They continued to walk in silence.

Until Fuyuhiko eventually told her, “Keep up the good work.”

To which she bowed and replied, “It’s my honor to serve you.”

There will always be things that are just out of reach for Fuyuhiko. 

And there will always be Peko reaching out to help him from the sidelines.
