Notice this

Hello. Didn’t have a good day? Treat yourself… Maybe doodle on your legs with a washable marker… Maybe take a walk… Nap? Or even play with modeling clay. Don’t think you’re worthless.

We love you.

I love you.

I thought I was worthless too… But I found my talent and I carried on. I’m still unknown on Tumblr but I won’t doubt in giving this message.

Remember the people who love you The people who you love

They are your strength. Don’t mind if they are not much. Quality. Not quantity.

Remember that no one I say NO ONE can define who you are but you

Carry on.

I stayed up all night using a text-to-speech program to make my computer say “poop.” Now I’m exhausted and dehydrated from crying from laughing so much and nobody will return my calls. I called every person I knew and left them all messages of my computer saying “poop” and me screaming and laughing until I threw up. Nobody cares if I’m dead or alive.

Examples of Stockholm Syndrome in Disney

 Frollo and Quasimodo

Mother Gothel and Rapunzel

Frollo and Mother Gothel convince Quasimodo and Rapunzel that their lives are dependent on them. The two villains claim the outside world is a terrible place even though they know this is not true. They also constantly emotionally abuse their victims by implying their worthlessness and destroying their self-esteems. Quasimodo and Rapunzel sympathize with their captors and even believe their captors are protecting them and treating them with kindness. However, both captors are merely using and manipulating their victims for their own selfish purposes.

NOT:

Belle does not sympathize with the Beast when she is treated poorly. She becomes angry and leaves the castle, only returning by her own wish so that the Beast (who saves her) does not freeze to death. She does not respond nicely towards the Beast until he treats her with respect. In this situation, Belle has control and is not manipulated into feeling for the Beast, nor does the Beast treat her disrespectfully after the first night. While the Beast does have an underlying motive as to keeping Belle in his castle, he abandons this idea and sets her free to make her happy. If anything, this story is a case of Lima Syndrome where the captor starts to sympathize with the victim.

Check out this post which refocuses the purpose of Beauty and the Beast from merely (and wrongly) being about Stockholm Syndrome to it’s original purpose.

I don’t usually reblog stuff like this, but Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie and I’d like to have this on my page!

this is actually a very good analysis. I take back all the times I’ve called Beauty and the Beast a ‘stockholm syndrome’ romance.

I see a lot of kids at work and more often than not, the parents act as though they can't stand the kid. Kind of sad :-/

Ugg

At work today, a father and his son walk into my line with beer. Per the store policy, they are required to show ID. The son looks 18 or so, it's hard to tell. I politely request ID. The father completely loses his temper and starts yelling at me, the son starts yelling too. I remain calm and inform him that I cannot sell the beer to them if the son does not have his ID. The father keeps on yelling, the son continues and decides to just step out of line. Father keeps yelling and I call over my manager. Manager is a big guy, very sweet. The father loses his shit and starts yelling at him. Manager gets him out of the store. Afterwards, I'm shaking and tearful....manager commends me on being so calm and basically says,"Look. It sucks, those assholes are everywhere. Go settle down and get something to eat, I'm sorry you went through that." My Mom has borderline personality disorder....she randomly gets angry. Rages, yells, screams and swears. Emotionally and mentally abusive. Occasionally physical. I left home to get away from her because she's so toxic. So you can guess how it feels when a complete stranger reminds me of my own mother. Puts me in a weird mood where I'm very quiet and need to be alone. People are assholes

  • therock After we feed her, Jasmine just loves looking at daddy’s tattoos. I think it helps her digest😂. Can’t wait to one day explain to her what all this means. Chat about her cultures (Samoan, Armenian, African American and Italian). And while these symbols may appear to be primitive, unsophisticated and crude - they’re extremely sacred, thousands of years old and very powerful. My mana (strength). Ironically enough the symbol she’s fixated on is our ATUA (our God) protected by the small building blocks of my life and then by shark teeth. Yuuuuup, we gonna have some good daddy/daughter chats. Until then she’ll continue to use daddy’s tattoos as a place to scratch, drool and spit up. #Tatua #PolyCulture #FaaSamoa #Respect #SpitUpOnDaddy #Yay

More proof that Dwayne Johnson is basically a perfect human. I’m glad that this beautiful little girl is growing up with so many cultural heritages. Glad that Dwayne is so proud of the culture of his grandfather. Glad that he is exposing her to that even now.
