any tips for new digital artists?
- have at least three main reliable brushes: 1 for lines, 1 for shading, 1 for flat colors
- use textured brushes whenever possible, and avoid overly soft brushes, especially for lineart. very soft brushes can come across as unconfident or blurry
- balance soft and hard edges
- use clip studio paint for lines - it has better pen pressure than PS
- experiment with adjustment layers, overlays, etc, but try not to use it as a crutch
- do color studies
- do traditional art sometimes
- use 300+ dpi for good resolution
- the selection/lasso tool is VERY useful for good solid shapes
- try a bunch of different processes to find one(s) that work for you!
