so sometimes when it’s late at night, i listen to irish radio because…

  1. i love ireland
  2. when it’s late here, it’s morning there and i can listen to people talk about morning news/traffic as part of my white noise to help me focus
  3. i can keep in touch with recent news in ireland even though i don’t even know some of the news that’s happening in my own country
  4. ryan tubridy’s talk show (9am ireland time) is my actual favorite thing because he talks in the same exact way my brain works? like today he started out at the beginning of the show talking about the trend of adult people getting braces on their teeth, and then 15 minutes later he’s gone on 7 tangents and he’s still talking about teeth and oh did you know camera angles can tend to make front teeth seem more pronounced in general so front-facing cameras can make people feel more self-conscious and oh anyway back to the story adults have been getting braces even though they’re in their 20s OH but did you hear about ronald reagan–whose name can be said 2 different ways–there was this other guy who also died recently whose name can be said 2 different ways and i hope his wife is doing okay and

it’s 1am and everything on this blog is at least 5 years old and nobody ever pays attention to this blog anymore most of all me and that is completely a okay

but I just got emo about how much I used to love Ireland so much when I hadn’t even been there and how I had a whole tag section on my blog and stayed up late to listen to Irish radio all the time and loved Ryan Tubridy even though I had no idea who he was

who’s gonna tell 18 year old me that by 7 years later I will have lived in Ireland for 3 of those years and have a whole life and community in Ireland and listen to/watch Ryan Tubridy all the time and actually know all of what he’s talking about

what she means: in the tv show H2O just add water, cleo has the power to make water form in bubbles and eat it out of the air, but how do the other two drink water and have water touch their lips without turning into mermaids? how are they supposed to stay hydrated? what if there are no straws available? do they only drink water through water bottles that they can squirt into their mouths? have they invented water bottles that can do that without dripping at least a little bit? also our bodies are made up of like 75% water? does that water not count as water that is touching their bodies? also do they just. never wash their hands? never brush their teeth? that's so unhygienic ALSO what about those mister things in the grocery store? what about if bird poop lands on them? that's partially water? what about if someone accidentally spits while speaking and it LANDS on them? @producer jonathon m. shiff turn on your location i want to fight

hello it is me it is my last week of college and I have 2 assignments total left until I graduate so naturally?? I am awake at 2am looking through my old post drafts on tumblr from like 4 years ago and ngl all of these are still relevant? I just laughed at my own jokes for a solid 10 minutes. amazing.

Being able to find someone you click with so naturally is the best feeling ever. You feel like you’ve been best friends you’re whole life, it feels like you’re coming home. You’re so comfortable with them. Maybe that’s what a soulmate is. Not someone who shares every single thing in common with you, but someone who feels like home.

This was recorded by the Portsmouth Sinfonia in an experiment where all the members of the orchestra would swap instruments with each other and attempt to play them to the best of their ability.

favorite things about this

  • literally all the brass starts to get the hang of it and then the crescendos happen and everyone is like FUCK FUCK FUCK??? FUCK. JUST. BLOW RLY HARD.
  • the strings are lazy but also the same. like u can tell a lot of the ppl w/ the stringed instruments may already basically know how to play stringed instruments. like there’s definitely a section at the beginning where you hear a good portion going “oh yeah this is like. a smaller/bigger version of what i do.”
  • all you hear of any woodwinds is just “pffffttt??? pFFFTTTT???? PFFFFFTTTT I SAID PFFFFTTTT!!!!!” bc woodwinds are fucking HARD and you hear after like the first crescendo half of them just give up. they give up. they’re done. fuck this it tastes weird and my lips hurt.
  • that trumpet. that person is fucking TRYING man they fucking GOT this. they may not have figured out notes but they figured out LOUD and they GOT this.
