Kimberly Brooks in response to a question about how what influenced her when she was thinking about how to voice Jasper. Just before the video starts she says she was shopping for a refrigerator at Sears and was helped by a woman named Betty.
I can’t believe my most accurate read on jasper was “she doesn’t sound evil, she sounds like she works in retail”
So does anyone have a transcript somewhere? I’m HoH and can’t make her out very well.
I have a hard time making out some parts too but here’s my attempt:
kimberly: -named betty, ironically. and she’s very tough, and I’m trying to get into her voice right now but- I just remember they were out of the one I wanted and I was like “well can I go to a different… can I go to a different sears and get the same refrigerator cause I really want this refrigerator” and she’s like
kimberly, in jasper’s voice: no, see we’re all pulling from the same warehouse.
kimberly: and I was like “that is the best voice I’ve ever heard” so I think I stored that in my brain and I think it came out cause it’s just- I loved betty so much
audience member asks if she could see jasper selling refrigerators
kimberly: I think if she come- you know she stays… and you know she mellows out…. she needs to get a job……..
kimberly, in jasper’s voice: you need this refrigerator
kimberly: I think she would do well with that
