Birdy spent her childhood being the pretty one. She was never known for her personality, or what she did, she was always recognized by her looks. She grew up in a family with two siblings, but she was always daddy’s girl. Her two brothers never really interacted with her unless they absolutely had to, and it wasn’t much of a problem to her. They were normally out practicing their sports, anyway. Birdy grew up as a normal, rebellious teenager. In high school, she got in with the wrong group of friends. They would go out and smoke and drink for fun. The girl went on thinking that was the way she needed to act in order to be noticed and well-liked. So, she stuck with it. She would never go against her rebellious friends.  Even up until she was twenty, Birdy was drinking her weight in alcohol almost every night. There was nothing better to her than going out to a party with her best friend, Claudia. She got a job as a bartender with her friend, and it was almost like the alcohol never stopped flowing. But that was just how she chose to live her life as an adult.

Birdy was an alcoholic. She always had a glass in her hand. That it, until her dad got the hint. Birdy may have been living on her own at the time, but daddy paid for her apartment. She had promised him to never put a glass of alcohol to her lips again, as long as he continued to pay her rent. But, for a girl like Birdy, it wasn’t as simple as she liked to believe. She was doing okay for a few nights. Only two glasses of wine at dinner. But she knew it just wasn’t enough. So, the second Claudia offered a night on the town, Birdy was quick to jump in the car and go. They hit up all the local bars until they kicked them out. Eventually, the night began to expire, and the girls knew they had work in the morning, so they decided to head back home. It wasn’t the first time she got behind the drivers seat of a car while intoxicated. It was just the first time she was ever that drunk. She probably could have gotten away with drinking that night, if she hadn’t gotten behind the wheel. After just a few blocks, Birdy slammed into the back of a minivan, and landed herself in a hospital bed next to Claudia.  After all her bruises healed, Birdy’s father sent her to his brother’s doctor’s office for a bit of testing.
