I'm not the bad guy

His silence is almost as eerie as his presence. The other Mikaelsons presence in town wasn’t so crazy or unexpected. After all Mystic Falls had been there home once too. They had people they cared about here as well. But Kol? There should be nothing keeping him here. So why was he here?
A sigh of her own leaves her lips as she moves to the kitchen, shifting the baking goods to the side and bringing the good stuff out. “That’s because I hide the quality liquor.” It had become a habit having Damon as an Uncle. If you didn’t want all your good booze to be gone then you had to hide it in places that he wouldn’t think to search. Even now that he was gone it was still a habit she had a hard time breaking.
Madeline pours herself a drink although the whole bottle sounds more tempting before setting it on the coffee table. “Well that’s certainly a relief.” She had never been anything less than honest with him so she wasn’t about to start changing that now. Her unanswered question didn’t go unnoticed though, but instead of pushing it, she tucked it away to revisit for another time. “You’ll be happy to know my Uncles are dead. And Caroline is still dead but I haven’t given up on bringing her back.”

He stands suddenly, making his way towards her slowly, purposefully. In a beat he’s right in front of her, the distance between them minuscule as he glances down at her; pausing for a moment, before he speaks. “Your hospitality could use some work.” He reaches passed her then, taking the bottle of ‘quality liquor’ as she called it, he would be the judge of that.

As he turns around, returning to his previous seat the ghost of a smile flitted across his features. The news she shares with him does come as a welcome surprise, both Salvatore brothers dead. He didn’t think he’d ever see the day. He refills his glass from the bottle in his hand, taking a drink of the amber liquid it contains. “Ten years and you still think you can find a way to bring back that blonde bimbo? Is your life really so unfulfilling that this is what you must focus on?”

If Nik’s time is up…I guess I didn’t want to miss my chance to bitch and moan. Because he is a tremendous ass. That he is…but he also secretly adores his youngest brother.

arriving at caroline’s house, kol had no doubt that the sight of him would come as a surprise to her. he didn’t know in an exact measure how long it had been since their last meeting, only that it was quite some time. and that they hadn’t exactly parted on the best of terms; but then again when had anything between the two of them been on good terms, their relationship from the very beginning was a mess of falling out and making up simply to fall out again. a vicious circle

and still it was the only of his relationships that kol looked back on with a sense of regret that it had come to an end, and a desire to try again. he let himself in the front door, instinct more than anything else, the settings of her house had always been as familiar to him as his own given the amount of time he’d spent there during their time together. he made his way to the kitchen, searching in the press he knew contained any alcoholic drink that she had, shaking his head at the poor selection. sensing her approach, a grin spread across his lips. “all these years and you still haven’t developed a taste for fine liquor.”

“ Please, don’t lecture me, Kol. ”

kol scoffs, rolling his eyes in irritation as he looks across at his elder brother. “you are officially the world’s biggest hypocrite. you have spent years lecturing the rest of and here you are about to make the biggest mistake you could possibly make and we’re all just supposed to be okay with it and just keep our mouths shut?”

staring intently at the circle created from salt on the ground in front of him, Kol waited for Davina to finish chanting, to finish the spell that would bring him face to face with his mother once more. it was a sign of how much he wanted to save his niece that he was willing to face Esther, something he never thought he would willingly do again. once the spell was finished Davina reminded him that it would only last a short while, which he assured her was fine by him. the less time he had to speak to his mother, the better. folding his arms across his chest he waited for her to appear, to be dragged from wherever she was to face her one of her youngest children once more.

The door to her home is ajar and all the lights are off in her home except one. She doubts it’s a burglar for that very reason. More like a very unwelcomed house guest. Her steps are about as light as they can be but if they’re vampire or werewolf it doesn’t really matter - they would have heard her coming the moment she pulled up into the driveway.
Her gaze falls on the back of a man she hasn’t seen in quite some time. In fact she’s surprised he is here at all. Madeline expected to be dead by the time he set foot in this town again. The thing about Mikaelsons’ is that you should always expect the unexpected from them. “I see you’ve made yourself at home.”
She’s glad that Caroline is nowhere in sight. Maddy can’t imagine that reunion going over particularly well. Green hues leave him to look around her home, searching, perhaps hoping to see another face with him. “What are you doing here? Where’s Bekah?”

The noise of a car pulling into the driveway alerts him of her return. He’s not sure how long he’s sat there waiting, too lost in his own thoughts to consider it. He can hear her approach him slowly, can tell that she is walking lightly though it is of no use when dealing with someone possessing a supernatural sense of hearing, as he does.

He doesn’t look up at first, when she enters the room, nor does he give any indication that he has noticed her presence. He simply remains seated still, gazing intently into the glass in his hand. A low sigh escapes his lips before he breaks his silence. “A difficult feat given what you consider quality liquor.” He places the glass down on the coffee table in front of him, eyeing it disdainfully.

His gaze lifts to her and he can see her search the room, even before she mentions the name he knows exactly who she’s searching for. He looks away again, settling back into the couch. “No need to look so worried darling, I am simply passing through. Believe me, I have no intentions of staying in this town for long,” his voice is low when he speaks, offering no answer to either question she has asked. “So, what have I missed?”
