This past week SnapChat decided to come out with a filter that embodies my spirit animal on another level. I knew the moment that filter fell on my face that I would need to bring it to life.

This gorgeous masterpiece of diamonds is perfect for any music festival goer this festival season. Specially for you gals who don’t want to wear an extravagant costume to EDC, this festival inspired makeup look is a great alternative.

You will find below a list of the makeup products I used, but feel free to customize it and go with what fits your look and style the best! See you guys under the ‘Electric Sky’ later this summer.

Sending all of you lots of love and light,

XOXO- Drea

First thing on the agenda for Lightning In A Bottle inspired tutorials? HAIR WRAP EXTENSIONS! These babies were a staple of my youth every summer. I remember every time I went to an amusement park I would get a hair wrap in my hair done and would wear it till school started up again. I had a few dilemmas with them though. One, I always dreaded how long the braiding process took, and two, the fact that I had to cut that hard work off when I could no longer have it in.

So what's the next best thing? EXTENSIONS BABY! What I love about having extensions is one, it's so much easier to create them in front of you vs. trying to do them on your own hair and not being able to see what you're even doing half of the time. Another aspect that I love is the fact that I can put them in whenever I want and remove them when I need to go back to 'normal' life/duties.

Overall this tutorial is extremely easy, does take a little bit of time braiding the whole extension, but remember, once you're done, you can have it FOREVER!

Hope you guys enjoy this tutorial as much as I did, I made over 10 new styles just the other night!

Sending all of you lots of love and light, XOXO - Drea

A few weeks ago I was approached by NESCAFÉ CLÁSICO to collaborate on a campaign all revolving around ‘Sombremesa.’ While sobremesa’ literally means "over the table," the more meaningful translation is that its the time spent after a meal, hanging out with family or friends, chatting and enjoying each other's company.

The concept of ‘sombremesa’ really got me thinking about how much time I take out of my week (specially during the weekdays) to unwind and really enjoying the company of my loved ones. As a lot of you can relate, being a grown up doesn’t necessarily include ‘family dinners’ at home very often anymore. So I thought to myself, who is the one person I check in with everyday and share the frustrations or joys that come with life? My boyfriend Ricardo!

Unknowingly we engage in ‘sombremesa’ almost everyday, specially in the evenings. This also reinstated how important and vital these catch up sessions over the phone/facetime are in making our long distance relationship work. While we may not live a state or two away, I still don’t get to see him as often as I would like (3 hours away), so taking the time out of our day to catch up has become and will continue to be very important in helping our relationship grow.

Much love and gratitude to NESCAFÉ CLÁSICO for schooling me on this beautiful tradition, one which I plant to continue to adopt specially since it includes scrumptious cafecito!

Because no music festival inspired fashion/accessories would be complete without the ultimate festival makeup look to match! I wanted to put together a very inexpensive festival look that a) won't cost you a fortune and b) heartache if anything were to be misplaced or lost while on your festival adventure.

Everything I used for the look today can be found at your local drugstore, I personally picked up everything at Target.

I am in no means a 'makeup guru' or expert, but I did spend a good amount of time brainstorming, shopping, shooting, and editing this tutorial, so I do hope you guys enjoy it.

And a very special, 'THANK YOU' to all of you who have been requesting a makeup tutorial from me, I truly appreciate you guys pushing me to step out of my comfort zone. I dedicate this video to you!

Sending all of you lots of love and light, XOXO - Drea

What do you do when you find worn out sandals in your closet? Give them a bohemian revamp? Don't find if I do! ANDDDD..... since music festival season is upon us I wanted to show you guys just how easy it is to turn any sandals into the perfect boho chic style shoe to wear all summer long.

I break the tutorial down into three parts: in the first part I show you how to create a basic boho style sandal decorated with a bit of flair using an assortment of decorative colorful trims.

In the second part we take your revamped sandals and create additional fabric layers that provide your sandals with more coverage. The additional layers then go onto serve as a template (base) to insert necklace cord that in turn will help create a gorgeous gladiator style sandal.

And finally, in the third part I show you how to create and attach pom pom's, tassels, and an assortment of beads/stones to give your festive bohemian gladiator sandals that extra pop of color for this summer.

Overall I love how many ways in which you can style and wear these sandals. AND, on days you don't feel like sporting the gladiator look, simple drag down the cord to cover the top part of your sandal for a more simple appearance.

Sending all of you lots of love and light,

XOXO - Drea

Bandana jewelry?! Yep! Recently inspired by Free People I decided to re-create their 'Metal Fringe Bandana Necklace' ($48) and 'Bandana Bracelet' ($18) for this music festival season. Since the bandana craze has been high this past year with so many fashion bloggers sporting them on their necks, I figured this tutorial would offer a fun alternative to its popularity.

Using bandanas purchased at my local Joann’s Fabric, I ended up creating both jewelry pieces for less than $5 bucks each. Talk about getting the look for (hella) way less!!!

In the first part of the tutorial I show you how to recycle any statement necklace you already own, and turn it into a bandana necklace. What I love about this piece is how many different ways in which I can style and wear it out.

In the second part I show you how to create a standard bandana bracelet, while also showing you ways in which to make it extra festive with some gorgeous charms.

Overall this tutorial is ridiculously simple and beyond affordable to make. Super excited to incorporate these jewelry pieces to my looks this summer.

Sending all of you lots of love and light,

XOXO - Drea

:: MATERIALS ::

  • Bandana (Joann’s Fabric)
  • Statement Necklace
  • Assortment of Charms
  • Folding Crimp Cord Thong Ends Connectors (2)
  • Scissors
  • Jewelry Pliers
  • Needle + Thread
  • E6000 Glue (optional)

Because you’ve all seen them all over Instagram, am I right? Learn how to create two different styles of laced crop tops from up-cycled bras already found in your closet! These babies have been a staple piece at festivals for ages and now you can make your own for an affordable price.

In the first part of the tutorial I show you how to create a laced styled bra and construct it into a cute crop top with a bohemian trim twist to it.

In the second part I show you how to take an already existing laced bra and add a bralette elastic strap to the top for a more intricate appearance. What I love about the second style is how cute the elastic peeks through if you throw a thank over the crop top.

And yes, if you haven't noticed, these babies were inspired by For Love and Lemons, but of course with an affordable DIY twist! Highly recommend checking them out if you love lacey intimate pieces!

Overall this tutorial is incredibly easy to put together and affordable! Just make sure you use your Joann’s Fabric coupons when purchasing the trim, as trim can run a bit expensive otherwise. You can also oped to use trim from an existing item of clothing you already have, just cut it out from the piece and re-use it!

Sending all of you lots of love and light,

XOXO - Drea

::MATERIALS::

  • Recycled Bra
  • Lace Fabric
  • Assortment Of Trims [ Joann’s Fabric, available online HERE. ]
  • No Sew Fabric Glue
