BDSM gets a bad rep as like a violent (male) dom pushing the boundaries of a reluctant (female) sub but in my experience it's a lot of subs with wildly elaborate fantasies screaming shit like "PUT MY ASS IN THE CHILI" while a new dom is like "Okay I think, we are reaching yellow for me,"

Sub: Okay so before we begin how familiar are you with the ancien régime? It's not super important but it does help contextualize this. Essentially I'd like for you to be a ravenous, semi-cannibalistic Antoine Barnave-esque figure

Dom, holding a pen and notebook: Yeah okay

On a tangent... I feel like many polls are too binary with the whole "American or not American" thing. As if it's just America and the rest of the world. It's very "America is the main character every other country is just shoved into a singular Other" (unless the polls are specifically trying to make a point about America). And it's also as if immigrants don't exist. Like, I never know how to answer those polls. I think I consider myself Greek first, but I am also American, I've been here for years. Many people in the US are in fact immigrants who can't fully separate the "American and not American" identities. I feel like this should be obvious, but maybe that's just because of my own experiences. I'm not trying to send hate here, I just think maybe we should talk about the idea that it's not actually a binary of American Or Other

sick of hearing about "healing crystals" that "cleanse your mind and body of negative energy" i want to know which rocks can hurt you and fuck up your vibe so bad

everyone suggesting uranium isn't wrong but anyone who said "literally any rock if you're willing to resort to violence" are the only people who can get on my level. you're hired.

can i get permission to say something that could potentially get me killed here and would DEFINITELY get me killed on twitter. am i safe with you here

ok so clarification: i literally couldn't give a shit what anybody is into and i would be a massive hypocrite if i judged people for their interests. i can't stress enough how much i don't care if people listen to taylor swift and enjoy her.

i think ms swift makes PERFECTLY adequate catchy music, she's not Bad, i get why people like her, but i just. i don't think she's a tortured starving artist or a genius songwriter. i don't think her songs have ANY deep heart-wrenching meaning other than the most basic "here's a metaphor for something, here are some words that relate to eachother and sound a bit poetic". i don't think the rich white woman charging $500 per ticket and taking her private jet to costco should be called 'punk'. i don't think she's a Queer Icon for any reason other than a good amount of queer people enjoy her.

like obviously subtext exists, i will assign any song to anything even if it doesn't fit perfectly. but i just can't see her as the genius poet that people think she is? and especially with the queer stuff, people are DESPERATE for her to be a 'queer icon' when there are SO MANY incredible queer artists. it's like you're surrounded by a giant beautiful orchard but for some reason you're foraging for apples in the river

idk i just don't what to say when someone quotes a lyric and says "isn't this the deepest, most meaningful, heartfelt, brilliant thing you've ever heard" other than "it's Fine?"

also she's the reason everyone is saying "____ era" to describe an outfit or makeup look they're going to wear for five minutes and for some reason it drives me insane but that's a separate thing

wait do those tin can phones really work?? I thought this was all a myth.

I just looked up a video this is wild I’m making one tomorrow

in my high school Art 4 class while we were no doubt supposed to be getting ready for a Very important Art Show, two of my friends made one of these phones but instead of talking into it they would write messages and clip it to the string and slide it across the string to the other and when the art teacher asked why they said “we’re texting” and she could not BELIEVE it, this was the FUNNIEST thing she’d heard all year so she got on her office phone and called the principal and said “two girls are texting in my classroom I need you to come take their phones and issue them detentions” and we all waited like assholes for him to show up and when he asked where they were she gestured at my friends “texting” on their tin can phone and my principal was already a pretty tired dude but that was the most exhausted I think he ever looked.

Sometimes it's useful to look at your dialogue and ask yourself, "would a real human being talk like that?" But it's also good to ask the follow-up questions of "would the way a real human being talks sound good here" and "does this character actually talk like a real human being or are they weird about it."
